I was just watching the film 'Notting Hill" with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant for about the fourth time, purely because there was nothing better to watch on Tv, and I was surprised to see how good the film comes across even today. It's such a beautiful story of how a very famous actress falls in love with a very common "Joe Bloggs" type of character. She's sick of the hollowness of the whole "fame thing" and desires to be loved just as a girl. In the end they get it together and get married but I remain very cynical thinking...oh yeah...as if.....like no way would this happen in real life! And then I thought well maybe it does.....perhaps I just don't know of it.
So my question is do you know of any famous Actors who actually get married to people like me and you, just very ordinary people who fall into low income brackets?

in reality i never heard it!!in reality i think celebrities have not a private life as ordinary people but also their private is a show...so where is the show if they will marry an ordinary people, with ordinary problems, limited economic ossibility and so he/she won't never understand the clebrity problems or talk?
i guess that if it happens should be a markeing campaign to have some attentions !!everything is a show for those people...

Yes there are many. Amir khan married a very ordinary girl. She was one of his staff. As you know Amir Khan is a super star and a brilliant actor, producer and director.

Well I never, was he a celebrity before he got married to her? (I don't think I would go as far as to say He was a brilliant actor etc...good maybe...sorry but that's the way I see him.....I do commend him for his attempts though, he has broken new ground in Indian cinema...but still MUCH is to be deserved, his films are still all too pretentious for me).

He was born with a silver spoon( actually gold spoon) in the mouth. He is the son of a well known producer/director. He himself produces entertaining movies with social messages. See lagaan, hum hai raahi pyaarke, taare zamin per. He married just two years back. This girl had helped him with the script during the making of lagaan, which went on to become a very big hit. It was the official entry to oscars. If we find some goodness in any body, let us appreciate it. Who ever he or she may be, how ever small or big.

Don't get me wrong Meapas.....I do commend his efforts very much, but I don't use the word excellent very easily. I have seen the films you mentioned, I especially liked Tare zamin per.....it's a great step in the right direction for India.........but I did find Lagaan abit pretentious.....although an excellent subject....something was hollow/missing......great attempt though.....alittle more practice and he will win an oscar.....then perhaps I will be more comfortable using the word Excellent.....not to say that I only think actors who have won oscars are excellent...(but it does help) like for example.........Arshad Wassi...was excellent in Munna Bhai.....
Please tell me who are Amir's parents....I am happy to hear of his recent marriage as he was divorced for along time.

Well, I know that Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers is getting married to an ordinary girl named Danielle Delisa or something. Although i'm not a fan of Kevin or the Jonas Brothers, I think he made a very smart choice marrying an ordinary girl. Because we all know that it's a rare event when celebrity marriages last long..

Ok I will have to look up Kevin Jonas as I have no idea who is, excuse my ignorance. Thanks for writing in. So far only one example of fame meets ordinary.
