What's one you love about being a mother?

If you are a mother tell me one thing you love about being a mother. My son is 3 and I love to hear him tell me he loves me. It just makes my day. I have lots of other reasons why I love being a mother too. But it just puts a smile on my face to hear him tell me he loves me!

My favorite part of being a mom is knowing that there will be someone there to hold my hand as I die. I have fulfilled my most primal need...my DNA will be here long after I'm gone.

I am blessed with 4 children; all girls so they are very close to me especially the youngest one who is 7 years old this year. I love it when she comes to me and say I love you mommy and she always comes to me when she has any questions and she has many being young and curious about her surroundings. That's what I love about being a mother. I will always have someone who needs me and depends on me and loves me. This may sound a little self-serving but sometimes we do need to feel needed and my children make me feel I'm needed.

I agree...we do need to feel needed and my son makes me feel needed too.

Gosh there's so many! My answer will have to be the same as yours. My favorite thing is to also hear them say Mommy I love you. I love the moments, for example, I will be washing dishes and out of nowhere my son will come up to me and just hug me and say I love you. I'll ask him if he's okay or what's wrong and he'll just answer back and tell me he just wanted to say I love you. It's the best feeling especially when you've had a long day from all the stress of daily life and your kids have no worry in the world and that "I love you mommy" just makes everything all disappear for that moment.

I've only had one child and she is now almost 37 years old, and she is my whole world. Without her I would have never had my grandson and graddaughter.

I know my mom loves me but my son (her grandson) is the most precious thing on this planet to her I think. :-)

You know, I have my moments when I tell myself if I can continue on being a good mom for my two kids. And the answer is always and will be the same. Yes, I can. My son who's almost 6 years old has language delays. He can't communicate in a way you expect a 6 year old can. In whole sentences. The most that he can say are two to three words. But he's doing the best that he can to let himself be understood. He started therapy when he was 3 years old and is still ongoing. But what he can't say in words, he expresses in his own, sweet actions. He may not be able to tell me the words, "Mommy, I love you...". But he will just sit next to me, and will give me a big hug. There was this one time, when his dad and I had a little misunderstanding over the phone. After that, I didn't notice that I was silently crying. My son came up to me, just looked at me, and wiped my tears. He may not be able to say all the words he want to say but he shows me what he feels. My son is just a little boy. But his mere actions will touch the hardest of hearts. And that's what I love being his mom.

That's sweet. He might not be able to communicate by using lots of words but just by him using actions you know what he is meaning.

The best part for me about being a mother is when my children need me. I love it that they feel that without me, they'd be lost and that they need my love and guidance as much as I need them to love me.

My daughter is only seven months old so she can't talk yet. I love seeing her happy and hearing her laugh. She is just so cute and smart! I can't wait until she's walking and talking. I know she will have some interesting things to say.
