I told them that I suspected God

I am not feeling too well today and am on strong meds. For weeks I have been in dialogue with an Insurance Company as a lightning bolt destroyed the workings of our electronic gate at work. The Insurance Company kept emailing me the wrong form and then insisted that I complete this particular form that IS Really all about things that had been stolen and is the wrong form. I have completed so many of these forms over the years so I know that I am correct. Remember that I am claiming for repair to an electronic gate. So on the form they asked me of the police had been notified and at what police station etc. So now I am getting really upset. After all, it is just a piece of machinery that was damaged. Then their next question was 'Do you have any reason to suspect anyone?' I answered YES They said 'if yes, whom?" so I answered 'GOD' I have now faxed it to them. Have you had any problems or funny stories related to forms that just have to be filled?

GREAT ANSWER CYHTHI, I'm anxious to hear their response to that. I can't think of anything to do w/filling out an app because i haven't filled out one in a long time but they can really ask some dumb questions.

LOL, I really love your answer :) I am sorry you are not feeling well, and I can see how having to deal with the silly insurance company would certainly not help for you to get better. IN any case, although I found your answer to be great check out what the policy is, because - like some other people posted - insurance companies do have some clauses on acts of God, so they can slither out of paying people for certain things.

Yes, I know. It really is irritating when it seems that we are talking to a monkey on the other side - and maybe the monkey would send the right forms in the first place LOL Unfortunately it happens a lot, with everything, not even only insurance companies. I had something like that a few months back when my internet provider made a mistake sending me the wrong modem and I had no internet connection. And they kept asking me to send an email... hello? You guys messed up, I have no internet! Oh yes, of course, but later on they would be asking me to send an email again.LOL

Thank you so much. No, we are covered for lightning as we are in the tropics. It was just that fact that I had to keep asking for the correct claim form that pushed the envelope a bit for me.

OMG.... if they don't like God then try Mother Nature or Zeus as the culprit to your current dilema with the gate. I swear insurnace companes love to get their premiums but not the claims GRRR...

cynthiann, This is absolutely hilarious at your expense. I am so sorry to learn of your plight and I am just baffled how the staff at the other end is hired to begin with. What is it with the company and the people there? Did you say that this is an insurance company? I am just not thrilled to be insured by such a company. I hope that you will be able to apply and get your claims for the damages. I just don't know what to say for you here except maybe to look for another insurance company. Take care and have a nice day.

If I was able to look for another Insurance Company then I would but my boss is a Director of this one and so we have to stay with it.

cynthiann, Well, I suppose you just can't win or have it your way here. Let's see what your boss has to say when the claims are delayed or not forthcoming from filling up the wrong set of forms. Thanks to this ingrate and illegible service agent at the other end. Take care and hope the issue will be settled soon.

What a pain in the neck those insurance companies are! I can't think of any great stories about filling out forms, but you've reminded me of the forms I have to fill out today because my oldest has a dentist appointment!

Nope, he has no cavities!! My 6 year old does need 2 baby teeth pulled though The dentist assures me it's not that big of a deal because baby teeth have such tiny roots.

Actually I'd be careful about saying that to an insurance company because a lot of them actually have stupid little clauses about not covering "acts of god", so it will get them out of having to pay for flood damage or things like that.

Many thanks for the advice but we are insured for lightning damage. Appreciate that you responded so much

yea theyll get you on that one saying it was an act of god has dropped yourself in it they usually wont pay for flood damage lightning or tornadoes. actually insurance companies are just moneygrabbing halfwits so they would try not to pay whatever happened good luck anyways:)
