Are we compromising our integrity for mere entertainment? Are there ethical implications in this?

Hi, GypsyDad! Could you give some clarification? Are you referring to those reality shows in which people do horrendous things in the name of entertainment?

I kept the question general so people can chose from the diversity of examples. TV, Movies, Sports, even within your own communities. Anything people might do for entertainment.

There are things that people swear are entertainment and amusement that are, in fact neither. Violence is the first that comes to mind. It seems to hae become a spectator sport!

you could say that. there's lots of integrity-compromising on reality tv for example. and the overall effect, i think, is demeaning. as if the lives of others are cheaper than ours. but then again, watching people lose their integrity is study on human behavior. we see ourselves, that as a whole, we generally lack integrity. even if we see others fail, or make fun of themselves, we greatly appreciate those who survive. for me, i begin to understand the diversity of human nature.
