I wonder who created these viruses. I have one suspect- the antivirus software programmers themselves. Why is it that everytime a new virus pops up on the net, so are the advertisements of antivirus manufacturers. They made it inorder for their softwares to be sold. The helpless consumers are forced to follow the tend to avoid all the hussles these viruses created. I remember Mission Impossible of Tom Cruise who fought against the big pharmaceutical syndicate. Should somebody take the Mission Impossible in the real cyberworld?

basically people who are good in programming can create viruses. they usually create virus because they're bored, or they want to seek attention or sometimes they do it to prank people (remember the 'ILoveYou' virus which was supposed to be a prank to a friend but accidentally spread tthru the network). they say that the best antivirus is common sense.

To be honest, you will not be very successful writing antivirus software without having a much better understanding of how trojans/viruses work.

No, what you said is untrue. There are several black-hat hackers out there that make these viruses for fun or entertainment. They mostly live in Russia or other countries where they are likely not to get caught. Even though it seems as antivirus software manufacturers are trying to get you to buy their software, which is true, they are not the ones behind the viruses. Programmers at these companies are the white hat hackers- people that try to combat the efforts of the black hat hackers.
