Allergic reaction to energy vitamins

I recently tried a store brand of the one a day energy vitamins. Within 20 minutes of taking it, I noticed my face burning a little. Then I could feel the burning spread. I went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I watched the spread of redness go across my face. The I developed an itchy, splotchy, red rash on my arms, shoulders, upper back, and parts of my legs. The rash was completely gone after about 2 hrs. I used benadryl and benadryl cream. Has anyone experienced anything like this before from a vitamin? I called my pharmacist and told him my reaction. I asked about Guarana blend and he said all it was is caffeine. I was given no other suggestion as to what caused the rash. I threw the vitamins away and let my Dr know of the reaction. What would be in a vitamin that would cause this?
