How old is your son?If he is mature enough to understand the seriousness, then speak to him in kind words and allow him to play only for certain time and that too after he has studied some lessons you have told him to.Don't impose strict rules immediately. But if he is too young to understand, then do something to the computer that will look repaired for him and send it to the service man for the time being.Cheers!

very well said but sometimes, old habits are hard to break. but i do agree that he doens't have to impose any strict rules unless you're really forced to. you can put a password for the computer temporarily. you can compromise with your son that he can play all he wants once the exams are over.

I am playing computer games since i was 15.Its true that computer games are addictive. My mother always complains that i am addicted too much to computer games and my grades have decreased because of playing video games only. But since last 1 year or so i am trying to get over this addiction.I have started watching movies regularly at my computer which automatically has lessened the hours for which i play game. And movies are not as addictive as computer games so you can easily give that up during semester time.

Hello, Yea I would have to say that I am addicted to computer games. Actually it isn't games, it is just one game. It is Age of Empires 3, once I start playing it I can't stop. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

Playing games is fun. No matter the children or parents. If your children like to play games, the games have been on his mind. Prohibit children play games you will not make it can learn well. Play games and learning, should be 1 package. Make games as prizes. For example, if your child can answer questions about the lesson, can play games 1 times. No need to stopped. One time he/she stops himself/herself.

I think the first thing you could try is to make him understand that it is not good for him. I know you would already have tried it and he would have not listened to you :) Try to develop his interest in some outdoor games activity. This way his mind will be diverted from these computer games. Also it is good for his health also. If nothin works you can try to delete the games from his computer when he is not around. I do not think it is a good idea but it will surely work.
