My mother in law is 95 years old and very energetic. This year she flew to Australia by herself and flew to America by herself too. This September she’s going to have cruise trip around Europe. When I met her and had talked with her about two hours. I already felt tired but she was still talkative. I’m very surprised to know her age. In fact she’s the oldest person I have seen in my life. How about you? Who’s the oldest person you have seen in person?

I knew a lady one time who was like 103. I was polishing her nails. I asked to make sure because I wasn't sure if she was really that old. But she was! I know a lady now who is 96 and will be 97 in September. She still drives and comes here to visit 3 or 4 times each week! She's very with it!!

my mother in law still drives too. I don't think it's a very good idea for elderly people drive. I feel scared but i can not tell her.

The oldest person I have ever seen is my husband's great grandmother. She is 107 years old. She will be 108 on November 25th of this year. She was living on her own up until she was 102-103 then she had to move in an assisted living nursing home because she kept falling. She is a wonderful person. Sadly she has started going down hill lately and no longer remembers who anyone is.

When I was a little girl we used to go camping every summer. I remember one year we were invited to a campsite a couple down for a birthday party. The lady was turning 112!! And she was just as active around the campfire as everyone else - even more active in some cases. She played with us kids like she was the same age as us. Whenever I consider how old I'm getting now, I think of that Gramma and vow that I'll be like her at that age :)

It is nice to see someone of your mother-in-laws age being so active. The oldest person that i have known is my grandfather, he was 98 when he passed, but he was not that active anymore. My mother is 74 this year and she is still very active, my dad passed, so she is living by her self, and is still able to do everything that she wants to do. My mother, and father in laws, are also still very active and they are both in their 80's. they still do some traveling, and enjoy life very much.

I don't know. Some people look older than they are. There are many old politicians who still campaign to win the elections. When I visit the villages I see a lot of old people who still take care of themselves and the household chores.

Really? From my experience I feel people now look younger than they really are. Happy Mylotting.

My family on my mothers side and fathers is very old. My uncle is 94, my aunt is 92, and my great grandmother was 105 but she recently passed away. She had some really great stories. She was alive during the titanic!

Hello Sblossom, this is an interesting discussion. Your mother in law is awesome! She is so healthy and energetic even she is already 95 years old. But I am wondering there is a rules which I read from a travel magazines mentioned that people exceed 90 years old can not travel by flight anymore. Have you ever heard this before? As for me, the oldest person I have seen in my life should be my grandmother. She is 90 years old now. She is so active and healthy too. I hardly see her fall sicks.

I asked my husband and he said there's no the rule. the UK even has no age limit for driving cars.they just need to pass the medical check and if their health is good enough then they are allowed to drive. This afternoon i had a community party with a few elderly neighbours. They were more energetic than me. I was very uncomfortable with the hot sunshine and i had to back my flat. They left at the end of the party. Thanks for your reply and happy mylotting.

My grandmother just turned 97 this April. She is still very alert, walking and doing things for herself. Every year we have a birthday party to celebrate her years with us. We all come from different countries where we are and celebrate. She does not believe in over the counter medicine. She practice old and natural remedies. Well if it work for her that is great. I wish to see her live to be 100 that way we will have the biggest birthday bash.

she will be my grandma... i don't really know the exact age of her... but i'm pretty sure that it is over 80... she has problem with her legs and can't walk properly anymore because the bones already become very weak... so she is in the wheelchair most of the times... but other than that, she is still very healthy and her memory is still incredible for her age... take care and have a nice day...

The oldest person I have ever seen was 108. She the day after her birthday. I have seen quite a few people well over the age of 100. I worked at a nursing home and she didn't seem to enjoy much. She couldn't see, hear or talk very loudly. She was NOTHING but skin and bones. It wasn't very pleasant. I hope I don't live that long. Can you imagine what all they have seen and gone through? I don't want to.
