Why are men such 'Stuffed Shirts'?

Is it mandatory for men to be gruff, serious, insensitive to normal things and helpless in critical situations? So very predictable and boring! I mean we are laying ourselves open to domination! Any show of sensitivity and understanding earns a tag of 'gay' automatically. What do we do about this situation? Ladies what is your take on this?

I think that it's cliche.
I wouldn't even consider dating a man that can't laugh at himself or me often. If he can't be sensitive, even in private, sorry ... but he's not going to be dating me or be a friend of mine. To be part of my life, a person has to be unafraid to show their true colors. If they want me to be honest, they're going to be honest with me, regardless of what anyone else thinks of that. If he's playing Mr. Macho just because the other men around do, I think that they're immature and don't waste my time. I don't need a herd of 1,000 white sheep. 1,000 white sheep are worth less because there's so many that are the same. There's only room for black and purple and pink and rainbow colored sheep in my life.

That's a good one zoey!
Just for the discussion, we the men are all jovial and fun loving till we land a partner, then the act ends. Just as women try to be slim and presentable till marriage and then bloat (Sorry to generalize that, but I have seen it happen more often than not). Call it happy or content or pregnancy or just wow! I've landed my guy now I can relax and not mind my shape so much!
It then becomes a routine rather than a cliche. Like, Dad, Mom should look after children.

Im sorry but I never have, nor will I ever understand why, women to present themselves different until they get with their partners, or men for that matter.

yes we can shift a lot of men in to one catergoy. here's one for you, my dog had a sore leg the other week along with a great big hole in it. don't know where she got if from or anything like that, also the other dog that the boss has had a masive bite mark on her leg. we don't know where any of it came from, but i was concerned about it and my work mate was his usual self and came across as he doesn't care. i got at him about showing some care, for the animals.
men we'll never understand they way they think when it comes to some things.

Yes! that was a typical 'man thing' by your work mate! Here's one more for you, did the canines do "female dogging"? Somehow I am not allowed to use the gender noun for female dogs???
