with you be friends with.. well .. you? This came about with a conversation with a friend, and I was thinking about it tonight. She was a bit upset and down and kept saying that she didn't blame the person in question, because if she thought about it she wouldn't be friend's with herself either. I would be friends with "me" . I think I am good friend material. And I have qualities like the ones I appreciate in other people ( including y friends ). My faults are my own, but affect only me, not the people around it, so it's not to bad to have a friend with a few faults when they don't affect us. SO yeah. I would be my friend. I guess when people are a bit down they are much more harsher on themselves, thus my friend's comment. But just to check, I'm looking for comments from mylot: Would you be friends with yourself, if you were someone else?

I would be friends with me. I have great qualities to being a friend, and they're the ones that matter, im nice, fun, i listen, ill help anytime a friend needs me in any way I can. I am not the most beautiful person, and I dont have a lot of money, and where I am, those things are more important to people then true friendship. Its all about how it looks to be seen with you. I have gone above and beyond for friends to help them, kept secrets, talked them through rough situationsm, as they have done for me, yet so many people just stop talking, and dont want anything to do with you. If I were someone else, I would definately befriend myself. I like this topic, i wonder how many people I know would say the same...its interesting to think about.

Yes, it is interesting specially because we need to analyze who we are and how we are as a friend to really make the decision. Usually the healthier the self esteem , the more people that will be friends with themselves. If the self esteem is lower, then we start to find some people that wouldn't. Or then one can find someone like my niece that honestly says that if she was someone else she wouldn't be her friend because she is demanding, not always there for her friends, and sometimes unreliable LOL At least she's honest :):):)

A big resounding YES! YES, I would be friends with myself. I consider myself having the quality of a true friend. It is people's loss if they do not want me as a friend. No, I am not haughty. I am not one to offer sweet nothings but harsh truth. This is done from the bottom of my heart and not with intent to malign. I am true to myself. Hence, I consider myself one's worthy friend.

And that, my friend, makes you the best kind of friend there is. That's also why you will be your own friend. Good qualities, for sure :)

I don't know. They say opposites attract, so probably I would be friends with people who have different personalities from my own. Then on the other hand, sometimes I wish I had a friend as honest and thoughtful as me. Lol.

I think I'll befriend me.at first,I can be aloof and intimidating, but later on as I get comfortable with a person I will start sharing more about myself with him/her.I am a good friend.I have a few faults, but I am 100% human.I appreciate and care my friends so much.

Yes, when we see ourselves as a good friend we usually realize we would be friends with ourselves. Actually it is a good thing and it shows that our self esteem is balanced and healthy.
