Yesterday,I saw an interesting program on tv.It ralates a story about a girl from USA,who teaching english at a college in my city fell in love with a chinese boy.Actually, this boy is the gatekeeper of this college. He came from a poor family of a small mountain village,he only had secondary education. But that girl still love him.At last, they got married and had a baby.I bless their mariage, but there is a little unbelieveable that this couple have different backgrounds, different experiences and different races, besides, they did't know the language of the other side, how did they comprehend each other? Can true love cross these real barriers?

Hello Aiwener. What a beautiful story this must have been to see. I think sometimes yes, love can happen despite the obstacles you mentioned. Things like smiles, hugs, emotions are universal. They are recoginzed and felt in spite of cultural or language differences. I am sure that as time goes on, a couple like this one learns one another's languages and ways, and hopefully, the love will survive all or even deepen. Again, a lovely story. Karen

Hello my friend. You are so right. I believe that more than money, fame, or much of anything else, we all long to love and be loved in return. Thank you for the Best Response! Have a wonderful day. Karen

I taught English in Taiwan several years ago and met my boyfriend who is Taiwanese so it happens all the time that different people find each other from different cultures. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. For us I don't think it was a huge cultural difference because he lived in the US since he was 12. And since I lived in his culture for a few years and learned a little of the language I can still relate somewhat to his culture.

Hey, Yes of course, true love can easily cross these real barriers. That is the beauty of true love, if it were true love, no matter how different the two people are, and no matter what others say, true love will still always take priority. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!
