No electricity in Lapu-Lapu City

Since about 2pm today, the lights are out. We are affected in the office since most of us are using computers. Good for me and one of the other personel who has UPS with our computers.
I pity one staff who is the duty secretary of the day. She has to go back to the same old antique typewriter to finish the complaint. She already had typed the said compaint in her computer but it happened, all systems are out. Sorry for her.
Good thing though for me, that I can still post from my mobile phone. And the mobile provider I have now never shuts down their system here.
I wonder what caused this brown-out in Lapu-Lapu. Is this happening only here? How about the neighboring cities?

well maybe there's just a little problem in your area that's need to be fixed...coz here in Talisay where i am, we don't experienced any power interruptions for today...what we just have is slow internet connection! hehehe
well with your co worker...its just okay coz it don't happen all the time...its better atleast she have another option than hand writing the complaint! hehehe\

It was already 10pm last night when the power was restored. There wasn't also a report in the newspapers on what was the cause of the almost 8 hour brownout. My phone's battery drained too so I just stoped posting.

Hello neil,
That's real big trouble with brown-out,but it is advisable to have some back up batteries for our computers not to lose all date and files when brown-out attacked.
I hate it when there is brown-out.I need to change the netcable,i had to put it directly on laptop to had the server keeps going.What i hate is,i had to plug and unplugged cables...grrr(hehehe)
Well,so far,there is no brown-out here.But when there is rain,the electric power always comes and due to lightning automatic shut off

I fell asleep last night when my phone's battery drained. My wife says it's already 10pm when the power was restored.

Hi Neil,
I am sorry for the black outs, it does happens from time to time even where we are, when the weather is bad its happens, most time in winter which really annoys me but what can you do, nothing, just grin and bear it. Hope you'll get your lights back on. Hugs.

Yes tamara, lights were back at 10pm and I just got to bed and slept. Nothing can do, can't post cause my phone went off too when the battery drained.

I pity the secretary on duty. She maybe had a bad day today doing her typing works using the traditional antique typewriter. Good thing you can still login here in mylot even if you can't use your computer. That's one of the best benefits we get from these modern phones available in the market. Happy mylotting.

It was her first time to do it with that antique typewriter so she really got annoyed. This phone really gives me a lot of advantage, just like now, even when I'm far from the desk, I still can post on myLot. The worst that happened to me last night before the power was restore at 10pm was my phone's battery was drained, so I just slept and rest.

Hi there, well i am far from your place we are from Quezon Province and we dont exprienced having a black out here. Well maybe there is problem with your location anyway its already 5pm and 3 hours had passed so I guess you have electricity now, hope so, well keep on mylotting

Have you guys complaint that problem with your municipality? it seems that some one from either Napocor or Meralco should be upgrading generators in your area, and that's not fair..it reminds of those brown out days back in 92. terrible 11 hour brown outs.how long this has been happening there.glad you have your phone with you.@neildc (17239)

The power went on at 10pm but I was already fell asleep then. My phone's battery got drained too so I stopped posting and went to bed. The brown-out usually happens on weekends but not during office hours, like yesterday. It's just annoying for we can't do anything if power got off and it's too hot inside the office.

Without any electricity in Lapu Lapu is such a shame and I too pity her. Maybe she should use a laptop with fully charged batteries if it happens often there. Or maybe like you use her mobile phone. I have a trusted PDA phone so I won't be worried too if there is no electricity.
