I got the most wonderful news!!!!

My son has been in a nursing home for 6 months but today I found out he was accepted at a rehab center that specializes in rehab with brain injuries! This is a huge step to his complete recovery and I just had to share it somewhere!! WE will be moving to New Orleans Tuesday!!! yeah!!!
Anyone else get some good news today??

Congratulations on your great news. My husband had a rather mild stroke on 1/28 but fell and hit his head on the sidewalk and suffered a traumatic barin injury. The road has been long, emotional and very very difficult but he came home on 6/19. Today, he walks independently without using a walker and gets in home rehab 5 days a week. He still has major cognition and speech issues but I see improvement every day. We still have a long way to go to full recovery but every day I see something that gives me hope and keeps us going. Best of luck to you and your son. Remember to take care of yourself. I will keep both you and your son in my prayers.

I am glad you are watching improvement each day with your husband. I had no idea about these kinds of things until all this happened over 9 months ago. We have been waiting until he is able to do rehab and I had almost lost hope!! This is good. And I am glad your husband is doing good too! I know it's a lot of work, but there's an end in sight!

My son was in a terrible car accident last November. He was in ICU for three weeks then in an isolation room for 6 weeks and then about a month in a regular room in a hospital. He had lots of injuries, the most serious was a head injury. He was placed in a nursing home last February and is just now ready to move on to rehab!! That's about the gist of it!

That is certainly a wonderful news for you, and also for all family members. Excellent that your son will be receiving the best treatment. New Orleans is a very nice City too.

Yeah, it's great! It's actually further away from family, but he will be in rehab and not a nursing home!! So that's great! I like New Orleans .. better in the day than at night though!

You can see the above post to get some of the story!! It's been a long nine months so far and we have a long ways to go! He still has to learn to walk and talk again... pretty much has to learn everything all over again!Thanks for your prayers!

great i hope he gets the help that he really needs. its hard out there really i know. he is in my prayers. i haven't had any wonderful news like that lately. well your news was my good news. tell him to keep his head up. miracles do happen......

Hi macdlingolinger, that sounds like wonderful news for you, I really hope it helps with your sons recovery. I also hope it provides somewhere a bit better for you to live and cook in. Good luck with the move to New Orleans.
Good news today. A friendly fisherman has welcomed me to along tomorrow for the first fresh figs on his tree, a weakenss of mine. Interesting news today times two but not for Mylot eyes.

yep, I don't know yet where I will be staying so I have no idea of accomodations or anything! Hey.. enjoy the figs.. they are good for you!!

Good news today...hmm...I didn't get any today, but yesterday I learned that I'll be able to volunteer at a local hospital in a department that I wanted. It really, really made my day.
