What is the biggest purchase you have ever made?

The biggest purchase I have ever made was this last tax time. I purchased a new 50" flat screen television. I was so nervous when making this purchase as I have never made such a large purchase outright. What was the biggest purchase you have ever made? How did it make you feel?

I really don't think I've ever purchased anything large or anything above $100. In fact, I can't think of anything that I've personally bought that was for more than $50 and that $50 is usually spent on several things that end up adding up to a lot of money in the end. I'm not sure how I do it, but I really try to avoid buying large priced items unless I've waited all I can and feel like it's time to treat myself to something nice.

The only reason we made this extreme purchase is because we had the extra money left from our tax returns and decided that we needed to update our television. I personally would have been just fine with a 42" but everyone else in the house begged for a bigger one. The kids love playing video games on it, so I guess it was a descent purchase. It was an automatic washing machine. We've been researching around the area for an affordable automatic washing machine and none was as cheap but with quality as that one. So by the time we heard the price, we totally agreed to buy it and we paid it by cash. We use my sister's car to bring it back. The shop did offered to send it to our home but my sister and I were too excited. Plus, it can be fit into her car so why bother waiting.

And it was something you needed. I know that our tv was something we needed as well, however as I stated earlier on I really didn't need one THAT big but everyone else within the home was so excited and wanted to feel like they were at the movies while watching tv and playing their video games that I caved in. Thanks for your response and I'm glad you were able to get your washing machine.
