Warren Buffet support this project and investment for "i - house", a project that our future home, house should be made inside a factory, instead of construct it on site. Was it sound so weird to you? This modular construction inside a factory would save a lot of money, so they said. I just wonder would this kind of house viable in the market. When you first hear of it, would you consider buying one in the future?

the town i live in in maine is actually known for being the largest manufacturer of "manufactured homes" as we call them, in the area. We have quite a few companies that build and sell these types of houses. Most of them are built in two or three large portions at the factory, then loaded onto to large trucks and driven to where the person wants the house put. Then they place the pieces on the foundation that has been pre-made and hook them together...infact, just a few inutes ago i saw one driving by my house LOL They are much cheaper than building it on site, and even though they may not be AS customizable as building your own, they do have so many options availiable, that it isn't like all the houses look as if they have come off of an assembly line and are identical. If i ever have the money to purchase land and put a house on it, i would certainly look into going the modular route. It is much cheaper, they are still of great quality, and go up SO much faster.

Many people here in America order modular homes... not so weird at all. Although if the homes don't have quality builders, the results can be horrible..

here in Australia we call that warehouse living, it is very trendy to either get the shell of a warehouse or factory and transform the inner to a liveable space..or you can buy already made warehouse living areas...I have always wanted a house with an old shop attached to it so I could turn the shop part into one lig room...I love the idea.
