it depends, cats usually have the freedom to wander so you see often see them in the street. dogs not so often, so especially if it looked lost i'd contact the sspca (the organisation that deals with things like that here) to pick it up and stay with the dog until they arrived. i'd do the same with other pets such as rabbits or parrots.

Pets are always let out, owners think that their pets are always gonna look after itself and be safe.At times when it goes out of its normal premises it may roam around.Pets often get lost, even if its not our pet we must be very kind enough to report the missing of the pet to the desired officials or owners if possible.I being a die hard pet lover or you can say animal lover would always try and help an animal in danger and would surely make others aware of this too.

If I can get a hold of the pet, I will take her somewhere safe, and then call the animal control centre here in Guelph, and have them pick up the animal. I also live right down the street from an animal hospital, so if I were to find one just outside of my apartment, I would only have to walk a few blocks, to take her somewhere safe.
