best alarm co.?? need your imput, please.

I had ADT for many years until one of my closest friends was robbed twice with the alarm on. In my country, cops can´t go into a house unless the owner asks them to. So ADT called the cops and they stood at the door while the robbers took all they wanted through the back fence. I think Misty first and now Lola are better guardians. If something is going to happen, it will happen antway. But burglars and other bad people prefer a house that is not guarded. Unless, of course, they know you have diamonds at your house and then they are willing to take the risk. Lola is a pest, but she BARKS!!! And she is such a bigoted dog! How does she know who is poor and who is well off? Mistery! Tace care and close doors AND windows.

I had protection one and now have hummm - GE? something anyway - I'm not good at setting it when I'm in the house, but try to always set it if I'm leaving - I pity the fool that breaks in when we're home...

It is quite scary when you have a rapist on the loose. why do you want to put an alarm system in the house. Aren't your house secured enough? I am not very knowledgeable in any kind of alarm system but maybe you can check that from the net. Maybe having alarm system installed in your house will calm you as it will set off once there is am attempt break in to your house.

My sister has the Brinks security system....and it has worked out well for her and she lives in a big city...I don't have one.....I used to have a dog and he was a very good security system! Not even a rabbit could walk across the yard without him knowing.....I don't know if you like dogs but they are not only good company...but they would also protect you from strangers etc!

ADT is really the only one I can think of right off. I think an alram system is a great idea. I know they have specials sometimes that you can have all the equipment and everything installed for free if you put their sign up in your front yard and pay the monitering fee for a certain amount of time.

don't Casey let you know when someone is around? i think my Baby is a good alarm she lets me know when someone is comning around and cheaper than ADT or the others.i don't know anything about the systems at all. sorry.

I wish I could help you on this Jo but I don't know anything about house alarms. I can say this though, ADT is the most popular one because of all the signs I see in the front yards. Sorry, wish I could be more of help! But I wish you the best of luck finding one!

I can imagine how nervous this would make you feel. I know that I would be petrified. I do not know what kind of alarm system is best though. However, I am sure that you will get recommendations from other Mylotters who will give you good advice. Someone recently posted about having a can of wasp spray to use as it would temporarily blind someone. I think that you should always have it in your hand when you come from supermarket and are walking towards your car etc. Have your car keys out and the spray to help you. It is said to be better than pepper spray. I really hope that they authorities catch this monster before he hurts one other person.
