why is it that anytime a woman is angry at her husband, she makes her husband sleep on the couch? Does it really happen and why the couch? isn't it the husband's house too? i believe they have equal rights. And why would a man actually agree to sleep on the couch? My parents have never had that before so i don't really understand

It is mostly something that people joke about....telling their significant other that uf they don't shape up, it's the couch for them! Though when i was with my ex, there certainly were times towards the end when we weren't getting along so well that i didn't even want to sleep in the same bed as him, let alone in the same room. I never told him he HAD to sleep on the couch, and he never did, but there were times when i woudln't go to bed, i'd stay up late, then fall asleep on the couch cause i didn't even want to be near him as he had made me so angry.

I am sure it does happen in real life in some instances....sometimes if people cannot get over their greivences before bed, they want to sleep apart. TV just dramatizes it. I only sleep on the couch if i am upset and just need time away from my partner.

Does that happen? It doesn't happen in my house. The only solution to that is never let the sun set on a disagreement and never go to bed angry. So both will enjoy the comfort of the matrimonial bed.

Well from what people's responses are am guessing it does not happen. But sometimes its not that easy if both man and woman are actually strong headed when it comes to arguments.

I would feel bad for myself if i am forced to sleep on the couch. so far i only see that in movies or series but never on real life.it can be funny in the television but sometimes it does make me think on how do i respond if am told to sleep on the couch. i guess, il never know for real.
