My sisters and I used the webcam to take some photos of each other today. I have been trying to locate a certain set of those photos but have had no success so far. The same method was used to save all the photos but for some reason some have gone missing. I have tried various search methods including using search to search for the photos by name. Still nothing. This is frustrating as Id really like to get those photos. It cant be that my computer just swallowed them. Its nearly 20 photos. Can anyone here assist me in recoverig my photos? Id be ever so thankful if that is possible.

are you using a software whenever you run your webcam? 'coz there are some webcams that requires a software for it to take pictures and there are some that automatically takes picture even if you don't run that software. try looking under My Documents My Pictures (or Pictures) sometimes that's the default location. other times, it'll be saved under that Program Files [name of webcam software].

Hi lovelots. I went through those steps before and cccame up empty. The last thing I did was to downloaad a software (recova) which searches the entire computer systeem for lost/deleted photos/files. I cant say if they are there at the moment as I cant open some pictures. i find it really hard to belive those pics could just disappear like that. Thanks a mil for your suggestion.

Your cam software may have its own folder in which to store pictures taken by it..go into the cam settings menu and look to see does it mention anything like that. otherwise,if You have no luck with the Cam settings/Menu,you could search your computer for picture files-most photos are stored in the JPEG or BITMAP formats,so you could search for "*".jpg or "*".bmp from the windows search bar from the "Start" Menu. the only thing is,the amount of picture files stored on your computer could take a good while to sift through..try sorting the results by size or date, and start with the larger sized ones first! It IS odd, though, that you can't find them if you've named them already...
