Yesterday, I was working with my old computer. Because of Virus attack, and other spyware infection. My older computer was totally crashed, and I won't be able to recover other stuff I stored in my computer. So, now, I downloaded "Ubuntu", the open source operation system, and installed in my old computer. And it actually running better than other Windows version. I also heard about the Linux, and I was looking for the free download of that operating system. Can anyone help me, where I can find the free download version of Linux, so I can installed it in my other computer too?

Linux is not a single operating system as windows or macos..linux is organized in different distributions and so to download a linux based os..you should choose which distribution you like more to have in your computer..so in general but this is not a rule naturally distributions as redhat, opensuse etc...are normally suitable for business needs and also the os in general and programs related to the small or medium business...if you like a more private and consumer distrubution there are some as Ubuntu, one of the most famous, but also mandriva, debian, feodora, gentoo etc... on the contrary if you are looking for a more unix based linux distribution so have agreat pruposes if you are a programmer or like to compile your programs on your os and have much possibility related to that there is also slackware..naturally this last distribution is much more near to the old unix style than the graphic interface called gmome in linux!! Anyway to know more about different distributions you can also read in wikipedia a short story where you can find all informations and amjor os in the linux universe or simpl coming in the websites of the distributions for example ubuntu.com..etc..you will find in it all informations ,guide and developer community to learn and start now with your open source new os!!You can download one of these for free and put it on a cd and start loading directly from it or you can install directly in yoru computer..if when you start you will be a little patient you will see that linux os in general are smarter and secure!!good luck!!
