One of the first things I ever learned to make from scratch was pizza. It wasn't fancy but I did like it and it was fun. The California Pizza Kitchen has a couple of really good recipe books out on making all sorts of varieties of pizza. The basic dough recipe is great, there are several to pick from; and the toppings are quite inventive. The soup recipes in the book are quite good also. In fact, I bought the books for the soup recipes and was quite surprised. Here is what one of the books looks like: http://www.amazon.com/California-Pizza-Kitchen-Cookbook/dp/0028609883/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1250489243&sr=8-1 You can probably look it up at the local library and check it out for free. Happy pizza making!

I did once. It's actually pretty hard. We have to wait for the dough to raise after it's been treated with yeast. Then we have to crate the cheese, slice the bell peppers and whatever toppings. The dough then has to be flattened(it wouldn't stay flat, it keeps bouncing back to a ball) and keep it flat to put on the toppings. It was a little too much work for a food that can be easily and cheaply bought but it was fun making pizzas. We made smiley faces with the bell peppers
