Hey friends, let's say that you start a discussion and you have around seven or eight responders. So you commment each one back. But then after commenting each one you notice that your discussion is beginning to die down. So do you go on and give out a best response from the seven or eight responders that initially responded to your discussion? Or, should you just wait a few days or a week or so later so that you can get even more responders and then give out a best response? Which is the best thing to do???

Best response should be given after the discussion has been inactive for a few days. Well, it completely depends on the choice of the user. If you feel like giving a best response go ahead.

It's all up to the original poster. Most folks do wait a week or so though

Hello, well, most if I see my discussion is dying out then I just start to give out the best respond right the way. To do this will help my next discussion... cuz most of people will come and give me a respond or something. But it is hard tho... sometimes it is interesting to everyone even it is a very basic topic.

Oh I'm at least a month behind on BRs. Unless I get a really good one, I never do them right away. But that's my rotten method and I know a lot of people do them within a day or even sooner.

Sometimes it is like this, you create a discussion, you get couple responses then it just get disappeared when the new ones come out... what I can do is just leaving the discussions there and wait to see if I receie anymore coming, if not, I will give out best responses after couple days. I don't feel very nice when I only receive couple responses.

I usually wait about 3 months before I choose a BR. Just because the first time I chose one, about a month later a far better response was posted. That is just the way I look at it. Cheers.

Hopefully you're friends on myLot are looking at your discussions and responding, right? It's annoying getting a few (or no) responses. Wait it out a few weeks and then give a best response. Then move on with other discussions. Or if you don't see a BR then leave the discussion and start new ones or respond to other discussions. Cheers!

I don't think it would depend on the age of the discussion before you give or choose the best respond. I think, if your question had been answered well, you can already resolve you discussion by awarding the best respond. But then, some users tend not respond to some discussions if already resolved, so you also opt to wait for some time to catch more responses.

I normally would wait days or weeks so that other members can pitch in. To me my choice of best response is my own and may not be necessarily the same choice as a best response for other members. I would also prefer that members judge for themselves which is the best response for the discussion in their own way.

I would give it a few more days, because people here on my lot are from all over the world, and in so many different time zones, and some people don't get here everyday. So i believe that it is best to wait for about a week. And i think that some people jump to fast by giving it, because their are some that will not give a response if the best response is already given. So they are missing out on some responses that might be great.

If I have something to respond to a discussion, then I respond. Then again if I have something to comment on the responses, then I comment, otherwise just say thanks and make room for others.

That happened to me and I just ignore my discussion. If there's new response, I will comment back. I will choose Best Response after wait for 1 month or more,, because after BR awarded, most of discussion doesn't get any response again. Maybe yes, there's still 1 or 2, but not as active like before BR awarded.. You can try to make reponse to other discussion and some of them will make response too in one of your discussion..

Nope. it still depends on who is the best or closest response on my topic. and until i had made a decision, i won't give out the best response yet.i can wait long until my head get's a decision. ut i am thinking of commenting on those responses.

I haven't done this before, because quite a few of them are pretty good and classifying them doesn't seem appropriate. I'll like to leave it as such so that there are no ill-feeling or bias.

hi citychic I usually wait at least two weeks in case anyone is on vacation then give out the best response.its kind to wait awhile to give people a chance to see your discussion first.
