Hi, Nowday although many commodities in big market can be bargained, there are still a lot merchandise can be discounted. The point depends on your bargining capability. So are you skilled at bargaining? Your good or bad bargaining experience? your suggestion? Happy mylotting!

I am a bargain queen! ! I like to bargain to get the perfect deal. In fact, bargain needs to be patient and you need some skills. I always bargain when buying things from flea markets. Another bargain place for me will be on my traveling trip. I get to see seller like to put their price too high for the tourists. As a tourist, if you don't bargain, you will be the foolish buyer. For example there are many hawker stalls near tourist spots. If you want to buy some souvenirs, you must keep in mind to bargain at least 50% from what they offer you. If they offer you 3 bangles for $10, then you tell them you will only buy at 8 bangles for $10. Then the seller will said you are asking too much. Slowly you walk to another stall and they will chase you back. They will then give you 6 bangles for $10 instead of 8 bangles. See, this way you can get 50% off from what they offer you previously. Hope you get what I mean...

Hi, Bargain queen! I am jealous of you. Just a joke. Per your response, you are very good at it. You can enjoy bargaining as well as save money. That's one stone with two birds in a China word. Thanks for your experience sharing. It is very helpful. Maybe next time, i will try it. Hope it can work on me! Happy mylotting!

Hi vingyan, Yes, you are right. We have to bargain when we buy things during our tourism, as the local dealer try to take advantage when they deal with tourists. By the way, i am about to travel to our capital. During the trip,i would try your way to get a good bargain in Bejing, our capital. Happy mylotting!

Hi sutent, no need to jealous at all! . You can try this matter on your holiday trip soon. But remember this is what we can use when we are shopping as a tourist! Normally people think they can take advantage when dealing with a tourist. We just have to be more careful.

I usually but what I want without thinking of the price, its only when someone may ask how much did you pay for that, then they say you could have bought it cheaper over there, lol I also don't like to window shop, you see something you like but can't purchase it at the time, only to go back and find they are sold out, makes no sense to me.

I would consider myself good at bargaining. If I see something that's in pretty good condition, but there are a few threads that are loose, I talk the price down. If they don't discount it, I don't buy it. I also love the end of season sales. You can easily find things that are not in perfect condition, but can easily be fixed. These items are already marked down, but since they need to get rid of thse items you can talk them down on the price quite easily.

Hi, From your response, you are really good at bargaining. At least you are familiar with your object and the seller's weakness. Cheers for that! In contrast, i am not good at it. I always just ask if they can give me some discount, not bargain. Of course, mostly the sellers do not give any discount to me. I think i should learn something from you. Happy mylotting!

I could have easly fixed it. It was on sale for 8 dollars. I tried to get them to let me have it for 4 and they said no and walked off. Let me in on your secret! PLEASE! Have a good day rjblueyes

but i do know how to bargain & got the best deal for myself, but i did not have a very good skill in bargaining. some people can really bargain & could get for themselves the price that is very much than the market price. for me, i think that if a person is skilled in bargaining, he or she should not buy things from supermarket or hypermarket, because they can get a very good price out there. but if a person did not know how to bargain, he or she need to buy things from the supermarket or hypermarket where the things sold are fixed in price. otherwise, they might be ended up buying something at a much higher price than the market price.

sorry, i just noticed that my response above started with a 'but' which is a mistake, so please ignore it. yes, usually i will buy from supermarkets & hypermarkets or shops in these category. so that even if the price of the thing i bought is higher than those who bought through bargaining, it will still be in the reasonable range.

Hi victorywp, That's ok. Don't mind. Shopping supermarket, we do not need any bargain at all. As to me, the most important thing is getting what i like, followed by price. Do you agree with that? I am also very happy to get my favorite. Happy mylotting!

Hi, Just like you, i also know how to do bargaining, but are not very skilled at it. Maybe our kind heart do some contribution on it. So i always shopping on supermarket or hypermarket, as the commodities there sold are fixed in price and no need to bargain any more, just like you said. Do you do the same thing all the time. Happy mylotting!

I am not sure if I am a good bargainer. I will try to bargain if I can at the cost that I am willing to pay. If price are not negotiable I will leave not to bargain further. I own a business and I know how it feels when my goods are being bargain. There are times customers who offer lower price and assume that the goods is worth of nothing. They tend to think the quality is not up to the standard than those sold at a high end shopping mall. They will offer at an incredibly low price which sometimes the goods it self cost more than the price they offer. \ To avoid any argument or the uneasy feeling of both customers and seller, i think its best to shop at a shop or store with a stated price or goods that comes with price tag.

Hi, It seems that you are very familar with bargaining, as you are a custom as well as a saler. As a custom, you want to lower the price. In contrast, you want to a higher price. It is very interesting, isn't it? By the way, you suggestion is applicable for me, as i am not good at bargaining. I always have shopping in supermarket to avoid any bargaining. Happy mylotting!

Hello. We usually go to supermarket to buy groceries and things in these places can't be bargained. If there are discounts, they will tell you by a plate. Bargains at other shops such as clothes shops are often available. I am not at bargaining because I feel a little nervous and shy.

Yes I am good in bargaining, we need to know how to bargain things since the life and earning money is so difficult, its not necessarily you just agree on the price of a thing as the seller sells to you you need to bargain and i know they will give you the least price they will. Barganining is also an asset were in you can save money for other things you need in everyday living.

I feel that I do try to bargain at most times, although how good I am would have to be judged by those around. Some years back, I used to bargain heavily, keeping in mind its always better to try than not. With time, you get to know the different type of negotiators and shopkeepers. Then you find out that the more they like you, the more you get. Sometimes it not about the discounts, sometimes its about getting the limited editions gifts, truly honest and sincere advice , and most of all premium service. Imagine getting preference service in a fully packed uptown restaurant... that's priceless. Most times its seems people don't negotiate because they feel guilty asking for discounts. I beg to differ, shopkeepers rarely remember 'normal' customers, but good bargainers (notice i didn't say hard bargainers) are hard not to notice. The best part comes after the haggling session, when you tell them how much you appreciate their service and thanking them for making your day. Here's where you feel good and they feel good, you feel like you might go back there again, and surprise, they actually want you to come back again. Now isn't that a wonderful win-win. Well, final advice for would-be hagglers: always keep in mind the nominal value of the product or service. Balance that with the value of the service you're giving them: being a happy customer, providing an opportunity to sharpen their skills, etc. Thus we have how much you truly owe them, any extras they want to give is up to them.

Secondly, keep in mind the nominal value of the product. It is very important to make a good bargaining. Thanks for your selfless sharing. It is very helpful. Happy mylotting!

sutent good discussion. I am the worlds worst bargainer. I try but I am so sure the seller is going to refuse me, I usually wimp out. I was in a nic-nac store and saw an item I really liked but it was worth more than I could afford. the salesman saw I really wanted it,and he asked' me how old i was.I had no idea why he asked that but I told him my correct age . He said, since you are a senior citizen lady ,I will give you a fifteen dollar discount,as its been here for a' long time. That made it super affordable so I did buy it. he then said, you need to know how 'to bargain. I was totally embarrassed. he he he

Of course, our goodness also do some contribution. In your experience, you may think that it is ok when the dealer give you some discount and you may never think that the dealer still take advantage. But it is ok, if you get your favorite. Happy mylotting!

Hi there, well yes everytime i was in the store I always bargain things that i want. Although i dont get any other discount in the mall because they have fix price i always try. But ended up having the same price but when i was in the market or other store that you can ask for some discount. I always make discussion on how i can get the best price. Sometimes i ask for half price but they never give it to me anyway i just ask them maybe they will give it. But if not i keep on having discount to them until we agree on the price, now that we face global problems i think bargaining when we buy sounds good, till here hope i can make sense here and keep on mylotting,

I'm not skillful enough about bargaining prices, may be some time I can get big discount but mostly I only can get small discount between 10% or 15% after bargaining. Usually my method is asking the price 50% lower, because most of them mark up their price 30% higher in the normal price. If 50% doesn't work I lower it little bit more, around 25%, but if that doesn't bring me to deal, my last offer is asking 10% discount.

Hi Sutent, I am not gskilled at bargaining but have bought products with discounts. I won't start it with a low price but an agreeable price. I mostly move friendly with the sellers and when I meet the next time they really remembers me and greet me and show me some good updated products. But my friend is good in bargaining esp., in local cheap markets. He will start with 90% discount rate and end up with 70 or 60% discounts... .. It will be really funny to watch as if they are fighting... Cheers... Have a nice day..

yes,I think so,in some place,I can cut off about 30% of the price, which will never happen in our school, because we dont have so many choices. perhaps the culture can be one of the factor,in my hometown,we sometimes pretend not very like the goods that we actually are very interested in,and the shopkeeper will give us a lower price, and then I will tell him how much money I want to pay.

Hello, I tell say, im not good with bargaining but Im good with shopping for less (get almost what I want but in a cheap price). I live in the US for over 10 years now and most of the place I go have their own tags, whatever the price there then I have to pay. However, I always do my best to get the best deal. most of the time, I will look over the newspaper or coupons and the sale in those stores. If I see something that is reasonable price then I will buy them.

This very process worries me! I know this sounds ridiculous but the fact of the matter is, I've never tried it! I have never tried to bargain for anything! I guess by not doing this, by not venturing down this path, I'm losing out when there are probably so many opportunities to be had. I remember a holiday I had quite a few years back now; I visited Tunisia and I remember the Madina market, quite well known in that part of the world! Anyway, as I was walking through that market there would be all these old men trying to sell you things, all sorts of different items! I had a hard time there! The guy would ask for a price and I would pay it! I wouldn't even try to haggle to reduce the price. Well, that's an experience I would like to forget! I would love to be resolute and decisive when it comes to deciding what I want in terms of a deal! I think that I need to take some classes on how to get the seller to agree to my terms! Andrew

No.. I don't know how to bargain good and I don't usually do it when I shop, I feel weird doing that. We have a shopping market that allows you to bargain or I should say it is common for people to bargain, so lots of people do that where I live, let's say they will say they buy 3, let make a deal to get an extra one free, soemthing like that and it usually works.

I am very good at bargaining. I bargain for everything possible. There are too many vendors selling the same commodity. I lookout for the one who is willing to offers the best price. There is so much competition if you don't get a discount form one place you are assured of getting one in the next place. The way you approach the merchant matters. You have to be very tact full.

Many people i have seen always bargain and that too without fail.Actually their mentality is responsible for that.No doubt,if are buying from any vendor who is roaming here and there than it is okay.Otherwise in most of the high profile places, things are kept at the fixed rate and with a standard quality.
