Have I Been Hacked Into On Facebook?

I am rather concerned that my Facebook account has been hacked into, or worst still someone has hacked into my computer. I have just had a text from my friend to say that she had received a few weird messages from me off facebook. When I logged into my account I saw the window open to my friend, I hadn't admittedly closed the window since I talked to her last but what I found in the message box which was from me was a rather rude message and I can assure you there is NO way I typed that, it has now got me wondering how this has happened? I have gone in and changed my password and hope that has sorted it, if not then the situation is more serious Has this happened to you? Do you think someone has hacked into my facebook account for this to happen or do you think someone has managed to hack into my computer and my email account? I am now worried at what else can be done without my knowledge.

I think that it´s very probably that someone could hacked your email account with your IP. An advice....don´t accept as friends people you are not sure to knowGood luck!!!

I am very wary now of who I accept and you are right it is best just to accept people I know, rather than complete strangers who suddenly want to become my friend.

You are ok. Addition of this some people who make spam, always take your account and some pages where you put your personal data give this information to others and they could visit you in social networks where you are .I´m sure you must ask Where I know him from? Well the answer may be this. Pay attention

yes i heard that some people had hacked their account in mails or ven in some social network as facebook or instant messanger as msn as well!!you should be careful about your password may be there was too much easy to retrieve and so they can get it and open your account as well..normally people put on their acounts easy passwrods because they must remember it and so in amjority of cass if you have a ood password so alpha numeric password or som cap letter inside it would be not so easy to retireve it...so you change your password and it is ok ..you cna lso contact the support anfd explain your facts may be they can retrieve the cronology of your account and see what kind of hijacking it suffered!!

Thank you yes I have changed it to a more complex password and fingers crossed the problem has been sorted, I am not that keen on facebook as it is and this episode has left me with a nasty taste in my mouth and I will be less likely to use it in the future.

I joined facebook, and within a month I deleted my account after the news reported someone who had actually copied a picture of a child off of someone's profile, and used it for an article on the web. When I realized how easy it was to use someone's information, was when I got out quickly.

Don't tell me. I just hope changing the password works. I know a professional who decodes for government and could well go unethical!! Recently my twitter account is suspended stating that I was spamming when the fact is i hardly go there. then i found out that lot of tweets were going to my followers' accounts. Obviously someone hacked. I am contesting to reinstate my account now.

Were you using a public computer? I'm not to savvy but maybe that's why we can log in and out of programs...it keeps our accounts safe. Maybe when we don't log out of a program we leave a portal open for unscrupulous people to take the opportunity to get into our account.

It was my own computer but you are right dear friend, I don't always sign out properly! So maybe that in itself is a lesson for me!

This news is very distressing, wolfie. It seems that Facebook has become a place that is not as safe as it once was. I saw on the news just this morning that they are being sued by some members because of misrepresentation as to how their private information is handled. I have been on Facebook for sometime now, but slacked off visiting the site around the time that rumors about viruses you could possibly pick up there came out. I don't find any site enticing enough to chance picking up a nasty virus. I hope you can get your problem straightened out on there.

Thank you my friend, to be honest I was never bothered much about it, and couldn't see the attraction in it, I am not into these sort of sites but I was invited and a few Mylot friends added me so it seemed rude not to, but I will be more aware and on my guard now.

It happened to me on myspace. I kept going in my inbox and have messages read that i hadn't read yet. I got suspicious but never could figure it out. You know it alerts you when you have new messages but when i went on there it looked like someone had already read them. So i just changed my password. HAven't had trouble since then. I did find out who it was but thats a different story. It wasn't a hacker though in the end. It was someone who i knew who thought it would be funny to make me worry.

Funny to make you worry? then they've got a very strange if not sick sense of humour. Yes it seems changing your password needs to be done regularly to avoid being hacked. Thanks

I am also on Facebook but thankfully nothing like that has ever happened to me. Hopefully it was only a glich on facebook. You did right to change your passwords. I hope thats the end of it for you.

Hopefully, I don't tend to use Facebook much to be honest, but this has certainly made me be more careful online!

Hi Bro!Sorry to hear about your mishap with Facebook. It was in the news a few weeks ago here, that a famous person, I can not recall the name, was hacked at Facebook also. I would not think it's your pc, but rather, a hacker. Seems Facebook has proven itself NOT the safest site in the world. This is why I won't use it anymore. Changing your password and doing so on a regular basis, is the wise thing to do. Luv, Sis

It kind of sounds like it just your facebook account was hacked into. It's happened to other people before (thankfully not me!). You did the right thing by changing your password though. Now that it's changed nobody can do anything with your account. You're fine now :)
