Thinking While Driving

I drive at least 60+ miles a day, whether it is dropping my children off at the grandma's for babysitting, stopping at a gas station, and going to work. I have SO much time driving, that I just tend to think about a lot of things. While you are driving, or walking, or even bicycling, what do you tend to think about? I tend to think about things that I really need to get done that day or night, or even the next day. I seem to get myself really motivated, and it sucks because I can't do anything while I am at work! lol I also think about our future, money problems, family occassions, etc. What do you think about while driving, walking, bicycling?

I use that extra time for relaxing but still try to stay alert to my driving responsibilities. I like to listen to music that either leaves me happy and uplifted or is very soothing. I like to pretend that I have no immediate responsibilities and that I am on a tropical island with the warm breezes blowing through my hair. I also like to use this extra time listening to a book on cd from the library or listening to a lecture of some sort that is related to learning something. No matter what, when I get to my destination, I'm more relaxed and more focused to jump into the next project. Oh, grocery store lines also afford me the same mental vacation!

o0o0o neat answer! I love how you day dream about being somewhere completely different, it almost seems like some form of meditation! I have never listened to those books on cds but my sister in law loves them and keeps telling me to try them out, but honestly I dont know if I could pay that much attention and actually understand what the story is about, while driving lol. I am better at seeing what I am reading, rather than hearing it lol.

I think it is dangerous. I am a day dreaming person and the thinking will completely take me off to a different world. There are some people who can manage thinking and driving, but I am not good at that. I also think a lot of things while taking shower and travelling in public transport.
