Barney Frank does a great job at health care townhall

In another example of the anti-health care/Nazi crowd, Barney Frank puts a women in her place when she asks another Nazi based (I was told on here by many people that these Nazi references were rare) stupid question. http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/08/18/video-barney-frank-confronts-town-hall-protester/ I irony here is that Hitler hated socialist and had many killed. What do you think of this video?

I think this is great. These ridiculous statements born out of nothing but ignorance need to be called out for what they are. This has nothing to do with the health care plan at this point, other than the fact Republicans are now admitting opposition to any reform, meaning once again they have been paid off.

I agree N, this has turned into a circus, and the lies keep getting more and more unbelievable everyday. I think we all knew that they were on the take, they don't oppose anything that they can't either make money off of, or gain power from, and this does both. Their goal is to use this to hurt Obama's approval ratings, and try to use this to win elecitons in 2010. I just hope that someone will get out there and counter all of these lies, and turn them back on those that are feeding them.

Funny thing...the videos don't lie. The common people came out dressed in wal mart off the rack clothing and spoke. When Obama had his propaganda fest...it was designer fare all the way. AND the common people stood out on the street having government goons point rifles at them. Yep...videos don't lie.

I thought it was about time someone told them what most are thinking! I'm also pleased with the latest news that the Dems. are going to blow off the minority party and use the option the right thinkers used when they had the senate, and use the 51 votes to get the public option in this new program! Right on! tdemex

tdemex, It is against the rules for the DEMS to use reconciliation except when it concerns the budget.

Well nobody's against health care and frankly the people making Nazi references are morons. That said, she's still a constituent and a taxpayer and deserved to have her question answered. Barney Frank like many of his ilk in congress are doing a great job of insulting and mocking hard working Americans, but doing a piss poor job of writing a health care bill and an even worse job of selling it to the American people. That's why the majority in this country oppose this piece of garbage despite the fact that the vast majority agree we need health care reform.

Debater, you really need to work on your reading skills. I didn't defend this woman in the slightest. If you'd actually read my FIRST SENTENCE, you'd see where I refer to people like her as morons. I'm no fan of Obama or Frank, but comparing them or this health care plan to Hitler accomplishes absolutely nothing. The only thing I said is that as a constituent she has the right to be answered. Even if she's not from his district, and it wouldn't surprise me if she's not, she's still an American and subsequently still his boss either directly or indirectly. As for Repubilcans, yes, they're doing a crappy job in the debate. They're doing a great job of turning people against the plan. That's indisputable as public support has dropped heavily for this, but frankly, it shouldn't be about stopping the democrats. They would win massive support if they would get off their collective a$$es and write a GOOD bill, no pork, no bribes, no favors for campaign donors, just a solid set of rules and guidelines for managing the out of control costs along with clearly written and enforceable laws to keep insurance companies from screwing their customers. Give me half of their annual salary and I'll quit my job and write a healthcare bill superior to any of their crap inside of a month that the American people can read, understand, and respect. It would never make it out of committees though since no bill can without the proper bribes for campaign donors.

Dr. Sheila Leavitt is definitely a constituent of Frank's but she's not a doctor. I suppose it's alright for these uninformed imposters to stand up and and lie by telling people that as doctors they support the health care. No one in the MSM has reported on this second (or is it third, now?) phony MD who supports the Obamacare. I think if it was really such a great plan, some real doctors might show up in support.

Greatdebater...I wondered how much the mother of that cute little girl who was 'radomly picked' to ask Pres. Obama a loaded question was paid? (she asked why everyone was being so mean to Obama, remember?) Oh yea...and I also wondered how much that fake doctor lady was paid....maybe since you are such a defender of truth, you know and can tell us? And the guys who beat up the black man selling buttons/flags? What's the going rate for thugs? And the ones who went to protester's homes and threatened them...bet they were paid a nifty sum too. When you are up to no good, the easiest way to keep from being found out is to point the finger and start the accusations. It's called smokescreening. Ask any school yard bully... And then you back track and to keep people befuddled about things you act as if all you are doing is for them and you just can't figure out why they are all so upset...that you have their best interests at heart. There there, you know I want whats best for you. And we aren't falling for it. We are finally waking up to the fact that our government is not infallible....and doesn't always have our best interests at heart. We're sick of being led around like sheep. We're sick of power grabs and big government telling us to shut up and take it. But if thats what you want, and thats what you think is the way government should be run....fine. Go to a dictator run country and live. I for one don't like it...as I've read the Constitution and know I don't have to take it. I want fair and compentent healthcare reform. Not some government lackey telling me I have to wait six months to see a doctor, or someone who has not a clue about my needs counselling me on end of life issues or family planning or raising my children. Those are MY decisions, not the 'professionals'. And I have reason to suspect their motives when I read what Mr. Obama's 'advisors' have very publically written concerning those very private decisions.

The question was a dumb one. The answer was even worse. This whole debate has turned into a bunch of five year olds firing immature insults at one another. That's all it is, and our media is happily encouraging the stupidity. I wonder why he does support this bill - Nazi or not.

I liked the answer, the funny thing is that one a few people on here made a comment about these people that are compairing our president to HILTER. I guess this doesn't bother any of you on here. With this new information maybe I should start a post about the numberous compairisons between the Bush administration, and the Nazi party (it would be MUCH MORE accturate than those compairing Obama, and Hitler)

thegreatdebater, You need to stop debating Rollo1,she is ripping you to shreds. Also awhile back you were talking about Warren Buffet. Did you know he owns a substantial ownership in 8 financial institutions that were bailed out by the government. He spent millions lobbying for this money. Two of the companies were Goldman Sachs and GE. Isn't this what you freaks on the far left hate? I have to give him credit though,he sure knows how to play the game.He also said recently that the Obama Administration is spending too much and weakening the dollar. Also he sees much higher inflation coming soon, but everybody already knows that. You can't print money 24/7 and not get inflation.

It's all about power. They want to control our lives. The original House bill would have been signed by Obama as is if it passed both houses. People need to remember this.

If you take the word "Nazi" out of her question, it was basically "why do you support this bill"? Frank's answer was to insult her. Now, although you may admire his wit and quick retort, is that really his job? He's a stand-up comedian handling a heckler? I don't think it would have been wrong for him to use a little humor, not at all. But he should have answered her question. Actually, we know the answer to the question, Barney told us himself. He said, on record, this bill is the quickest way to a single-payer system. The same single-payer system that they claim they are not trying to install. BTW, they aren't the anti-health care crowd, no one is against health care. They are the anti-government-run-health-care crowd.

Blarny the Molester may not have written the lousy legislation, but he was willing to pass it without reading it. That is far worse! He is an incoherent blowhard that should be kept far away from kids.

Great points debater, this is nothing but hate speach. I am sure Larry Craig still would not admit any degree of homosexuality. It seems to be the ashamed closet cases that do more of the sick crimes...there may be one here...who knows.

you're obviously unaware that there are two forms of english being used here. one has uses the normal meanings for nazi, socialist, liberal, communist, fascist and no doubt evil, satanic, tyranical, etc etc. in the other form they are all interchangeable and basically mean 'i don't agree with you' also i think many are confused by what nazi stands for.

Jb, apparently you are unaware as well, seeing how Hitler didn't like socialist, and had many of them killed, he also didn't like communist.

In the book "Communism and Socialism" written by Lunn in 1939 and published before the second world war it was written that....The Nazi Gestapo was modeled after the Soviet Secret police and that the atrocities of Dachau rivaled the brutalities in the Soviet labor camps. Socialism involves force, Lunn notes, and that cannot be imposed without tyranny and terrorism. Nazi Germany had adopted revolutionary Socialism, and it was modeling increasingly the Socialism of Soviet Russia. Hitler was for what ever would get him power and keep him in power. Nazi Germany was the second best customer of Soviet goods and the Nazis in turn exported so much to the Soviet Union that there was a large balance of trade in favor of Germany. The joke in the cafes of 1938 Vienna- Question: "What is the difference between Russian Bolshevism and German Nazism? Answer: "very little." It matters not what tag you put on it...it's all the same.

thegreatdebater, The meaning of the word Nazism is national socialism. The Nazi's were for single payer healthcare, determining how much people earned, and government ownership and control of businesses. I think its funny that you post something Barney Frank said. We on the right get alot of our material from this guy!!! He said Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were in great shape in 2003 and 2007. Wow,this guy is BRILLIANT!!! This is your poster child. HA HA!!!!!!!!

Carson, if you actually read about Hitler you will see where he despised SOCIALIST, and had many killed. I guess that kind of blows your statement out of the water, imagine that.

Greatdebater....so, he lied. what else is new? You think that someone who would order the genocide of an entire people is somehow above lying? The idea of a political spectrum is false. What ever name you give evil....it's still at its heart, evil. The far right or the far left...both want power. There is no middle ground for the people to be given a say. Not to mention the politics of it all....one minute socialists are the good guys, the next they are not. Are you really so blind as to not be able to see these fundemental, basic points?
