Public Option....Obama's Trojan Horse

The Right needs to keep the heat on the “public option” — as toppling it would greatly demoralize the Democrats — but the Right also needs to start attacking the individual mandate. Though you can find polls like Quinnipiac that show opposition, you can find recent polls (e.g., Gallup and Pew) supporting the individual mandate. However, as with the politicians, that support is about an inch deep. The individual mandate gets very bad numbers if people are told there will be fines for those who do not buy insurance (EBRI and NBC/WSJ) or that some could be required to buy insurance they cannot afford or do not want (KFF). And there is a real-world example of these problems with the individual mandate:
Massachusetts has a mandate right now. They have exempted 20 percent of the uninsured because they have concluded that that 20 percent can’t afford it.
In some cases, there are people who are paying fines and still can’t afford it, so now they’re worse off than they were. They don’t have health insurance and they’re paying a fine.
That was candidate Barack Obama’s opinion. The Right needs to remind the public of this early and often.

It's strange that you hear so much and see on TV demonstrators who seem to dislike the country that they live in. They won't even give representatives of theirs the right to speak and explain health care issues. If they don't like the President and Administration of this country, who they voted into office. Maybe they should move to Canada (oops.. they have free health insurance provided by a government plan)... well maybe they should move their families to England (oops... they can't go there either for the same reason).. Well... Let's see... Maybe they should move to Mexico or some South American Country and take their chances there.
Those who are shouting down the persons who are trying to explain the health care proposals are mostly "plants" by the GOP and their co-harts. So they should "knock it off" and let people who are interested in hearing the facts speak.
Is the GOP they really intent on tearing down our present form of government? It looks like it to me! Where would we find ourselves then? Do we really want to go back to the past 8 years of GWB run government? I think not!

First Canada's health care is not free. They pay almost if not over (tax brackets etc.) 80% of there income to taxes. I do not know what you pay for your insurance but mine is no where near that! People have the right to protest and really if the politicians would listen to the letters, emails and faxes people wouldn't have to go out on the street to get their attention. As for England's health care there is a reason why many go to other countries for their care. My aunt has moved here to the States so that she can have the surgeries that the British government told her she couldn't have. They said she was at an advanced age and that her eye surgery wasn't worth the cost because of her life expectancy, work status, and some other things that in truth I do not understand. She is 88, she still works a part time job (for something to do), walks her pups twice a day (a mile each walk) and will be having a showing of her paintings in October. She would lose the ability to do all of these things if she couldn't see, and her diabetes was ruining her sight. There are reasons people do not like this plan and just because Bush didn't do a great job doesn't mean that Obama is certified to do a better one just because he is flipping everything upside down.

I do not dislike the country I am living in. And who are you to judge that? Where do you live? In America we are used to being able to FREELY assemble and FREELY speak our mind. OUR government as outlined in our Constitution works for US! That is what REPRESNTATIVE government is all about. It's obvious you didn't take the required course in civics...that I took.
I didn't vote for Obama...and even if I did...he works for ME just because I AM an American. I can still remember when MY government answered to the citizens. Maybe in the place where you live....you can't remember such liberty. If you are an American....you've been bought and paid for by the socialist liberals handing out programs for votes.
As for shouting down those trying to 'explain' healthcare....maybe if they could be trusted to tell the truth...or be trusted to actually know about healthcare and what the people want and expect from their providers, we'd listen.
What their explanations amount to is telling me take it or leave it. I don't have to shut up just so you can have the privilege of not hearing me. I don't take being told to shut up from my president...why should I take it from the likes of you?
As for tearing down our present form of government...READ THE CONSTITUTION. It's another right WE have!

I don't recall even mentioning Bush's name let alone saying we were better off under his administration. That smokescreen doesn't work with me.
You have military experience? Then, since you fought for MY right to speak my mind...when did you change your alligence? Again...read the Constitution you and your ancestors fought for and took an oath to defend.
Just because you disagree with someone is not a good enough reason to tell them they cannot speak.
It's time to wake up? Yep....you are right about that! My eyes are open and my mind is not in some socialist dream world where the government cannot be questioned or disagreed with. How about you? When are YOU gonna wake up?
