These light bulbs supposed to save the energy we use. Let say it's a 100 watts but it only use 26 watts of energy. The last couple months I did change most of the light bulbs in my house. I just want to see if my electric bill really lower down. It does lower a little bit about $ 4 to 5 less. Hey that's another $60 /yearly. Not bad. And this is one of my contribution to save the earth, beside recycling.

Yes I started using them about 2 year's ago. But I just don't like they way we have to dispose of them. There are so many caution's with them it's pitiful. You just don't want one to break believe me.

You can't even dispose of them in the regular trash. They all contain Mercury and enough to poison you. That is why you dont want one to explode or break. If one does you have to be very careful and wear a mask around them and protection from the powder that comes from it. I had one explode when I lived up North and there wasn't even a dump that would take them. You can not throw them in the regular trash. Because of the mercury in them.

People call those bulbs energy savers. I've switched to that too instead of using fluorescent ones. I've not actually calculated the difference in energy use but I guess it shows when the bill comes each month.
