Ford dealers are crying for more new cars to sell, and the plants are working hard to meet the demand. It isn't just the Ford Motor Company, Chrysler is also delivering new cars to the dealers' lots. A friend who is a Chrysler dealer says he is almost out of new high efficiency cars to sell and says business is great since the "cash for clunkers" deal was put into effect. Some say it will hurt future car sales but he doesn't think so. The less gasoline we burn, the less oil we have to buy from overseas! http://abcnews.go.com/Business/JustOneThing/wireStory?id=8318714

I can't confirm that, theres a Chrysler plant right down the street from me and it has been shut down a year now and the university has their eye on it but still have yet to see what happens there. We have alot of dealerships on one road here and it looks to me that their merging together but i DID see a trailer full of new cars the other they which i didn't even realize how long its been that i haven't seen them until just the other day when i saw it, it wasnt going to any dealers around here though, going another direction (it was still full). Maybe it came from Toyota or Nissan dealership which are off in their own place--THEY seem to be doing the best! I have been seeing new Toyota's and Nissans everywhere the past couple weeks (and mini coopers, which are out of town)! Their lots are full and Toyota looks like they moved their cars closer to the street. I do think there are repercussion to this clunkers program there, that hasn't past me unnoticed but I need to follow up on that. My sisters husband works for Ford and I'm gonna call up and be nosy see whats happening there.

They were showing on the TV news that Ford was gearing up production. I hope things can be worked out for the companies and workers. Keep us posted on what you can find out from ****** Thanks for your response, I know there has been a lot of pros and cons about the clunker program.

I heard the car dealer have quit offering the program, as the clunkers are not getting credited. I hope that the companies can make it.

I know of one Ford dealer who says he is done with it. I saw where the government has already paid out 1.3 billion of the fund. A representative from the government stated that all dealers would get paid, however a lot of the paper work was filled out wrong and has to be corrected before payment. Maybe it is partly the dealers' fault. It will be interesting to see how it all comes out. I know that the dealer friend I have who is a Chrysler dealer told me about a month ago that he had been paid for 6 clunkers.
