Will you be getting a flu shot this year?

I am seriously considering getting a flu shot not just for us adults but for the kids especially. And with 2 of my kids being in school one can only imagine what kind of virus' home. Plus the past 2 yrs we've all had some variation of the flu and with both of us working and needing to keep the bills paid we can't afford to be sick. Though I wonder if the h1n1 they are developing is going to be in the same shot or would that be an additional shot? And do you think flu shots are effective in keeping the flu away? Or have you gotten the flu after having a shot anyways?

I won't be getting that flu shot, I never get them. I have a feeling it will cause more damage than it avoids. There is are studies that show that people who have more than 3-5 flu shots consecutively get Alzheimer's more than those who don't get the shots so draw your own conclusions. I don't trust the government, especially with my health!

I have never had a flu shot. My son has never had a flu shot, but my daughter did get one last year. Mainly because she gets sick more than my son or myself. I don't really know how effective they are since I really do not have experience with them.

I have not had one yet myself but I'm seriously considering it with my kids being sick the past couple yrs in a row. And their school heathroom attendant said she was sending home on average 3 kids a day or more with that illness.

the H1N1 will be a different shot, I will get a flu shot, I'm wondering about the H1N1, I didn't have a problem with the swine flu shot back in 76, but I wonder if this strain is something I need to worry about

I have no idea they say that it has not "disappeared" and would probably make an appearance with the regular flu in fall/winter.

Is there something called a flu shot. I have never heard of something. Is it something new? I took some kind of preventive injections lik polio and typhoid preventive shots when I was a kid. When I become older, I have never had any of those kind of shots. I wonder the shot which you are talking about is available in India.

They recommend most people get the flu shot here in the US. Especially if you fall into certain criteria. I'm thinking of getting this because since my oldest has been in school full time she's brought it home to us every year and I can't afford to get sick, though with the shot there is no guarantee of not getting it as the strains mutate pretty fast. Here's a link with some information for you http://www.cdc.gov/FLU/protect/keyfacts.htm I hope that is helpful.

I will not be getting a flu shot. I have never gotten one. My brother back in 1981 received one while in the Navy and he ended up getting sick for two weeks. He was so sick he thought he was going to die. So this is why I don't get them. I've been bless not to get sick so much. So I don't tend to worry to much about getting the flu.

I don't know if it will be effective or not, because I have not get it yet. I might soon and it will cost me about USD20 here in my place. Some of my friends who planned to go for a holiday are going to get it to so called prevent the H1N1.
