USA has now been overtaken by China in trade with Africa

China is building highways in exchange for Africa's resources. China is not even trainig or hiring Africans to do the work. They are bringing their own Chinese workers in. This sounds like hit and run. Westerners are investing in businesses and putting Africans to work. They are planning hotels and vacation resorts along the waterfronts. Seems to me the Westerners have the long term plan.

If you only watch TV news and programs of CCTV, you may have the impression that African countries give China a warm welcome and benefit from the trade and investment from China. But if you watch BBC or CNN, you may see totally different pictures. African businessmen complain that cheap Chinese goods make them unable to survive from the competition. African workers feel angry that they are not employed to work in the construction projects in their own countries which are invested by the Chinese companies. African intellectuals worry that China has intention to control the resources of Africa. Many Chinese may say that it's the conspiracy of the West. But if you talk with the people who have been to Africa, you may find that the above contents are partly the truth.
