Between elephant and Lion.. Who will win?

In a one-on-one combat, the lion wouldn't stand a chance... I think the elephant could win even if he is attacked by more than one lions at the same time - one strike from the pachyderm could kill a feline on the spot. I think a lion only stands chances when attacking a baby elephant separated from the heard, or a very old and sick elephant.
