People have different reasons for taking a second job. Some do it to have a second income to supplement on to the first income. This becomes necessary with the cost of living keeps going up. Some take a second job becuase they just get too bored nothing to do at home in the evening times. Do you have a second job ? Or, do you like to have a second job ? What would be your reason for that ?

I don't right now, but I'm planning on getting a second job EXTREMELY soon here! (I have a few interviews set up, and I'll hopefully snag one of those jobs.) My main reason is because I want to stay busy and do a little more with my time - because I'm taking school off this semester (I'm going to college, but I'm taking a semester off to save up). And I want to put EVERYTHING I make into a separate savings account for tuition! So that's my plan.

I'd think that both reasons apply to me. Currently i'm still looking for a second job to supplement my income; I hope to get one which I could work from home. Later when I retire, I'd want a second job to keep myself busy. It's not that I like to do it, but circumstances are such that having a second job is not an option for some of us.

Yes, it is good to keep active. It is good to have a second job when retired, a kind which one enjoys doing. That would be good for the health.

I have one full time job. However, sometimes on the weekends whenever the people that I work for are in town, I go to their apartment and I tutor their child in speaking English. The family is from Taiwan and they really wanted someone that could occupy him for an hour while they do things around the home and what not. I can make about $20 a weekend for two hours of work. It's not a lot but it helps buy groceries and sometimes the occasional item that I want. I really need the extra money though. I'll have to start repaying student loans here in a few months and my job right now, even though I do get paid a nice sum of money for just getting started right out of college, it won't really help me pay the bills and help me get the things I want in life such as a car and a better place to live. So I really do need something else to help keep me going.

Dear greenline, When I was just 21 years old, I am energetic and very ambitious. I have a 8:30am - 5:30pm monthly paid permanent job. I also take a part time project doing some consultantcy / translation job. This is to earn some extra money to support my part time ACCA course, to pay my room rental, to give some allowance to my mum. If I still have balance, I will once a while reward myself a gold pendant - if I see one that I like in the gold shop.. All the best and happy myLotting :)

I don't have enough time for a second job. I work too many hours at my first job. Actually, right now, I think myLot is my second job. Also, taking care of my house and husband and daughter is my second and third jobs.

I'm working 2 jobs myself & I've been doing it for a while. When I first started my 2nd job, the economy wasn't as bad as it is now. I was so used to having 2 jobs I just never thought of quitting one of them. I work at home improvement store as a full time job & I do work as a translator at a firm which works with embassy as a part time job. Interestingly enough, my part time job pays more than my full time job.
