All of us has our own unique style of handwritings. People said that one's can read the character of the person just by looking at the handwritings. Some of us has tendency to write slanting to the left. Some are slanting to the right, there are those who write very straight. A tall person normally have 'tall' handwritings..is it true? Some have very small and cute handwriting, are the person cute? Is your handwritings easy to read, or like lawyers and doctor's handwriting which only their nurses and assistant can understand? Just joking, because there are saying that : 'Doctor's handwriting are very difficult to read', is it true? Do share your opinions on handwritings. How about your own handwriting? Are you tall? Does it reflects in your handwritings? Do you write with your right hand or left hand or both?

Hi Iriene! Handwriting or say 'graphology' is one of my favourite subjects. I remember, when I joined mylot, I started my first discussions, which was about 'graphology'. It is true that our hand writing is reflection of our personality and character and health and how do we behave and think. Different sizes, styles and formations of letter/words have different meaning. I can interpret about a person, once I've seen his/her handwriting and signature. When I come across a new handwriting, I try to decipher it. Also, whenever I meet a new person and there is a possibility that I'll remain in contact with him/her for a longer duration and he/she may become my colleague or friend, I try to get his handwriting and arrive at my own conclusions about him/her. Writing tells exact things about thinking level of a person and it is great fun analysing handwriting of others and telling them remedial measures to improve themselves. By the way, my handwriting is slanted towards right side and I right neatly. What about you and your handwriting? Deepak

I think that this is very interesting. And to be able to determine the personality of a person is really neat. I wish I could do that. I have a sample here, I wrote this last night. It was pretty rushed, I am wondering if you can tell me what you gather from it.

Dear Deepak, I really admire you, you have wide knowledge in 'graphology'. You really pursue your interest, great job, keep it up I never knew that handwritings do reflect the person's health. This is something new to me. Thanks for sharing it here, I learn something very valuable here. Can you just share the type of handwriting and its reflects on health? Thanks, really appreciate it :) Pertaining to my handwriting, mine is similar to yours, but quite small as I am just 5 feet and 2 inch tall...so I think you can roughly know what is the sizes of my handwritings. Btw, may I know, when we said the handwriting is slanting towards right side, eg. 't' the pointing of 't' towards the right, am I right? Pls advise, thanks!

doctors' handwritings are very difficult to read because i think they write fast and also they sometimes cannot remember the name of the medicine, only can remember part of it so they just scribble through...thats what i guess... my handwriting...if i write fast, it will be very messy and the alphabets can fly here fly there, not straight at all. but if i write slowly, i write straight and neatly... anyway i dont think my handwritings are tall. also its not true that tall people have tall handwritings. my uncle is tall but his handwriting is small and neat and cute. i write with my left hand and as for my right hand, its been more than 10 years since i last use my right hand to write but recently i tried, the results arent so bad. probably few more practices will do the trick oh yes btw, i seen right handers, their handwriting seems always the same, the shape and size of alphabets seems the same while as for left handers, it always changes...weird...

Dear christmas_ & ChrysanTflower, I do agree that left handers are very smart people. My 2nd brother is left hander, and he is the smartest in my family! When I attended an Investment Analyst course, I met with a young and intelligent guy. He happens to be in my discussion group and we do assignments together. He is a left hander but he trained himself to write with his right hand too! He can even write with both his hands simultaneously, one hand copying English, the other hand can write the numbers at the same time...WOW He is the best student in Malaysia for the course. He graduated and became very successful in his consultancy career after just 2 years of working. He is driving the latest model of BMW car, business in Malaysia and China.

Dear Ritchelle, You are indeed knowledgeable and have a very good analytical mind. Great job I heard about this too. Someone even test by asking the candidate to write the number 10 and 7. By looking at how it was written, the expert can tell the candidates feeling and personality. Isn't it amazing. Those people who wrote number 7 with an additional line across 7 means he/she is very calculative and very detailed. Thanks for sharing and do keep in touch :)

Dear Ritchelle, Regarding the digit 10, if the person write 10 very closely means 1 and 0 stick together, then it define that the person is very dependant...it need to rely on someone. Lack of confidence! However if the person write the number 10 where the digit 1 and 0 is far apart, this person is very independant! Not so sure I got it right, because I read about it quite some time back...lol All the best, hope to hear from you on my latest topic - Weddings!

Hi Med! Bad or clumsy handwriting does not mean that a person is not good or its vice versa that if a handwriting is very beautiful, it does not mean the person is also very beautiful. Deepak

Dear med, It is good that you can write very fast. Btw, why you need to write a lot everyday? Are you in medical profession? I personally think..the important thing is : WHO will be reading your writings, if you are the one will be reading it, it doesn't matter how it look like as long as you can undertand it :) But if someone else will be reading it, then you must ensure that it is legible...can read and understand. Hi Iriene, I am tall. My tallness doesn't reflect my handwriting because I write slanting on the right and the letters are normal not too tall or too short. But it will be very legible. I used to get good marks and appreciation till my final year of college for my handwriting. But I nowadays write less so my legibility is getting down. I really have this big question why doctor's have such a handwriting? None can understand it. I have seen many and most of them have a similar handwriting but nor very clearly understandable. Why ? Is it wrong to write legibly the medicines to the patients? But the funny thing is the pharmacist easily figure it out. I write it only on my right hand. I do have tried it on my left but not able to do that... For years writing in right hand and how come in left hand over a single night... Cheers.... Have a nice day...

Dear Phillip, Congrats on your 'star rating 10'. Very happy for you! Wow, your wife are very lucky..you are tall and handsome! From what you are saying, a tall guy not necessary having a 'tall' handwriting. I will take note of it. The reason is, I do noticed people's handwriting, most of it but not all, those small size people tends to have small and cute handwritings. I was always wondering if there is any link between the height of the person and his handwritings. Thanks for sharing and do keep in touch!

My handwriting is legible thought it is very small. I have my own pace, it's fast enough to catch up most lectures, but sometimes when i have to race, it's only me who can understand my notes, :) after all it's my notes. All in all, i can say that my handwriting is like typed characters, small and clear. Coming to a doctor's handwriting, i never came to a conclusion why their handwriting is so bad. Even nurses or assistant might not actually understand it fully. They just come up with the exact medicines because they all know what meds are use in which condition and so all they need is to confirm a little bit by understanding some of the doctors writing. This is my guess. I am short, and my writing is small but i don't think my physical appearance influence my writing, because i remember my notes used to be from cover to cover. So, my small handwriting might be due to my miserly writing. Lastly, i wish i could write with both hands.

Dear thelittlenaga, You have a very unique username, I am waiting to see your avatar soon In Bahasa Malaysia - Naga means dragon, is it what it is meant here; the little dragon? It is good that you can understand your own handwriting..the reason we write is for taking notes, information and data for reference later. So, the reader of the handwritings must be able to understand the writings. It is the purpose of it... legible and 'understandable' by the would be reader! What you point out about the pharmacist / nurses / assistant do make sense, because they can roughly gauge what is written on the prescriptions by knowing what are the sickness the patients are having... I have never heard that our handwriting reflects our physical appearance. I dont' think my handwriting tells if I am short of tall or cute or not. All I had heard is that handwriting reflects aspects of our character somehow. I am left-handed though I can use my right hand in an emergency. But when I say I can write with my right hand, I mean it is sort of readable, a bit shaky. I think my handwriting is easy to read. I have noticed that of the doctors that I have been too myself, their handwriting is not so good.

Deaar horsesrule, You are right, so far there is no proven facts that handwritings can reflects our physical appearance.. The handwriting of a person can be analysed for certain characteristics. What is noted is the spacing, order, neatness, pressure, flow, word formation, presentation and the straightness of the line of writing. Naturally, the best and most comprehensive analysis can be done when the writing is done on an unlined paper, without margin guides. It is great to know that you can write with both your hands. My hand writing have different style in depends on my mood. if I will take note of a details my hand writing is not that good, but I rewrite it to make it clear. Sometimes I do capitalized my handwriting to me to see it clearly when reading. I don't know why doctors have that kind of handwriting, they are unique isn't it. I really ought to know better though, because I learned neat handwriting in school and used to take pride in it. Perhaps I am emulating my Dad because his was always scrawled and untidy... - Derek

I dont remember exactly what they said but I remember that I was surprised and alot of it was right on target. I have always been told that I have nice, flowing, artistic writing. I do know that you can read it and it is totally readable. I write mostly straight with no slanting and the letters like B, S, A and those type have a nice roundness to them. LOL! What it all means I dont know thou! Doctors writing is horrid and I hate even trying to make out what they write! Oh and Im a right handed writer but do alot of other things left handed. Handwriting is always a classical exemplifier of a person's character. In the old days before computers and the emailing and messaging that goes on now people used to take pride in an elegent handwriting and paid more attenion to this skill. Nowadays its inconvenient for a lot of people to write. They don't have the time anyway.

Handwriting can explain many things about a person.A very confident person will write straight and will write legible letters. But it is not always true. These are just the findings of many people. We just feel good when we can read a persons writing with ease. Many people can write with different styles. It is just a matter of practice and interest.Regarding doctors and lawyers,I just don't know why they have bad handwritings. Some reasons may be there. But still I have came across many doctors whose handwritings were very good. Everybody has a unique handwriting style and it also based on your life experiences. For example if your work doesn't have much got to do with writing, since you are not practising your hand to write then your handwriting will be poor. I think others are just too lazy to write that's why their handwriting is clearly legible. But as what i know, engineers have good hadwritings.
