Vista is not yet recommended these days as it has a lot of security measures, whenever you encounter software trouble it will be hard to fix it as there are lots of information hidden by vista software. Compare to vista, xp is still the best.

Thanks for the responses. Vista may not be stable yet because relatively new and still on the take off stage as compared to XP. I am considering to stick with XP first and try to search more about Vista stability.

Hello, I myself had Vista come with my new laptop, but it isn't that good. The main reason is because Vista chews up my computers RAM, so I can't open up applications as fast as in Windows XP. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

XP all the way. If you want something other than XP, though - go for Windows 7, but all in all XP is the winner in the comparison of XP vs Vista. Vista has been built to be comfortable and easy to use, but they ended up with an OS which drains too much resources from your computer but giving in return nothing else, than a flashy and shiny desktop. All the gadgets, widgets or whatevers do not compensate for the loss of speed on your computer.

Go with XP. Vista has plenty of issues, program conflicts and hardware/driver related conflicts that occur. If you had no say in the OS choice then Vista is still okay, just be prepared to have to solve certain problems.

Hi seekers Any notebook you buy today will come along with vista, these days you will not get notebooks with xp preinstalled in it, if you want you can always remove vista and use xp, but i wouldn't recommend that, if you want something better then try out windows 7... i don't say xp isn't good, if you want a really fast computer experience then you can even go for xp... have a nice day
