Posting controversial discussions- a race?

Expect that when something new or unusual happens, several discussions about a particular topic will rise up. I call it as a race because the first one who posted the topic without violating the rules will make his/her discussion stay on the list while the others have their discussions deleted due to 'duplicate topic' violation. So when something controversial or unusual thing happens, would you take the risk of getting the posted discussion to be deleted? Enjoy posting!

what will i do is I will only respond to the first member who have made the said discussion. with the following similar discussions, I will no longer respond to them because it is just a waste of time for I know to myself it will be deleted. this is a good topic. happy mylotting!!

Indeed it is a waste of time but it's sad that those who post the duplicates are not aware that they cause others to waste their time too

You are right, it is a waste of time when you post on a discussion that you know that will get deleted soon due to guideline violation. So when duplicate topics are around, just post on the first one. Have a nice day!

Hahaha you read my thoughts? I heard something earlier on the news here and I'm sure it is an international item so I was thinking 'shall I go for it or shall I wait?' and then started wondering who will be first - and how many will jump on the bandwagon too! I very rarely start discussions on events unless I have a very differnt angle on them. I prefer posting about something that has prompted a personal idea rather than elaborating on a news item. It's fun, up to a point, to watch those who post after the original discussion has been posted. Do they think theirs will not get spotted by admin or did they really not see the previous ones(s)?

Nice one, just a coincidence. Well, if you know that you are the first to get some issue, post it quickly as others might do it also (so I compared it on a race). About the discussions with the same topic which posted at almost the same time, maybe it is a coincidence because several users are trying to be the first. But still, the first one wins and get the topic stay on the list. Anyway, I haven't tried that thing as there is a risk of deletion so I just let them to do it and watch out which is the first one.

I like watching the race too but I also feel sad for those posting on the discussions which went up after the first one. They will lose out too Hey Anang! Never a discussion from you eh?

I don't want to but sometimes it's nice to respond to topics that are controversial. but i would be a fool to do since it well just get deleted. but if the post get deleted, it's not because of the topic but it's because of people fighting each other in their comments

Right, sometimes, arguments arise on controversial discussions that may lead to deletion. It is fun to participate on it sometimes but it is a waste of time when you know that it will get deleted later.
