I see people enjoying horseback riding. I have never done that. All I do is watch at the racing grounds and on the movies. I can sense it would be very exciting. Some people have been doing that at very young ages, I know. Would you enjoy horseback riding ? Is it very popular where you are ?

Last week end we went horseback riding through the mountains, and it was the first time i was ever on a horse, it was fun, but it sure makes your legs hurt when you are done.

It will make you sore if you're not used to it. I know I'm usually sore when I first get back on a horse in the spring after not riding all winter. I don't ride much in the winter because if it's below 50 degrees, a horse can be very frisky! If it's going to be an unusually warm day, I might ride, depending on my schedule. Some people like to ride when it's this cold but I was taught not to. Happy Trails! Kathy.

I forgot to mention that too. It can be a little hard on the legs and behind!

It seems to be a lot of fun. When I was little, I enjoyed pony rides a lot so I've always been excited about horseback riding. I haven't had the chance yet but I've looked up a ranch not far from where I live where horse riding is offered. Maybe I could try before the year is over

I have been horseback riding I think three times. Two of those times were pretty short. But one of those occasions I was with my church youth group. We all rented some horses, and we went trail riding. Through brooks and streams...It was lovely. I think I was fifteen then. That was the last time I've been on a horse.

I never want to go horseback riding. I rather just stay on the ground and feed the hors instead.I have been on a pony when I was a kid but never a full grown horse. I just don't have the desire to do it. Besides I like that my inner thighs aren't sore. I rather ride an elephant. They go slower. ps. Not too far from my home horses ar popular. I am here in Northern Virginia . In the middle of the state is horse country.

I actually went horseback riding once. It was something that I always wanted to do. Before my husband and I decided to start having children he surprised me one year as a birthday present and took me to a place that had horseback riding. It was really fun. We were with a group of people and the session lasted about an hour. I found it very relaxing and enjoyable.

Hi greenline! As you probably already know, you've started a discussion that is right up my alley!Lol I don't know just how popular it is here where I live but I have been enjoying it since I was 7 years old. We do have a few horse farms around here and we do have a lot of horse shows and rodeos here in the summer. We even have a therapeutic riding center where I volunteer. Horseback riding is good exercise, believe it or not, and I hope you will get to ride someday. Kathy.
