attending to weddings

Weddings are sacred traditions but I don't have good memories of attending weddings. My family would take me to weddings when I was really young and all I remember of them is the wait. We have to get all dressed up, drive far away and then just sit there and wait. Sometimes it seems like we're waiting for hours but sometimes it is hours. Occasionally, the couple or the couple's family drop by for pictures but that isn't much fun for the 5-9 year old me either. I think I would be happy if I actually knew the couple but the weddings I've been to have only been relatives I never seen before
