My parents just discovered a huge bee hive on the balcony of my house. Now the problem is, we are not sure what kind of bees build that bee hive. They seems huge and unfriendly. My friend said they seems like "Tiger Bee". I am so afraid to poke that hive, or do anything to harm myself. What should I go to get rid of it?
Some people suggested to contact 911, for further help or advise? Would 911 take calls from residents who has problem with bee hive? I afraid to disturb the police, and later on they might get pissed with these trivial calls. Any suggestion here please?

Bees do not build a stand-alone hive. They nest in hollows and fill them with layers of honeycomb and brood cells. Wasps will build a hanging, papery nest from wood scrapings that they collect. Hornets (a larger kind of wasp) will usually build their nest in an old hollow tree or a rabbit burrow.
It sounds as though what you have is not bees (if they have 'built' a hive) but wasps. There should be a pest control number you can call in your area. In the UK, the service is free. In the US, you may have to pay!

Hey you just fund an expert! LOL! I used to manage many apartment complexes, when this first happened to me I called my supervisor and she had me call ah exterminator! He said to wait until evening when all the bees return to the hive, at that point you can get a spray and spray the nest. They make one that has a long range shot to soak the nest and kill them! The other is to freeze them and move the hive! But I did this many times and it's very effective. If you do it during the day many are gone and when they return they get pissed if their house is gone!
( if the spray is not available then gas works also but be careful) tdemex

I had purchased a long range shot spray can from home depot before. What about the one can freeze the hive? and the gas one? where can you purchase them? Can you get them from home depot too? I need to know. Because my mom wants me to solve this problem as soon as possible.

So, you did call 911 for help before too? They would simply advise me to call the exterminator on this matter?

Wow, scary. Did not know bee hives could be built so fast. I mean was it one or two days? I think you should call 911 or some animal or pest control. Sorry we cannot come and help you. If you are lucky you can get a years supply of honey.
I wonder if the bee hive will attract bears.

In my city in India we have trained people who collect the honey or who can take out the hive easily without the bees stinging them or anyone else. Just look out for people if available in your place too. They may be able to solve your problem.

What we did when we found out a large beehive inour courtyard was we shot an arrow with a thread to the beehive without too much hustle and by doing so we got the honey dripping from the beehive via the thread to the container we kept. And later we got it burned. There was no casuality.
Yes I think you can contact 911, coz bees are very harmfull and i think they will take this seriously.

The best way to get the bees of without a single sting is our technique of fleeing bees using smoke.A person ties a cloth around his face with glasses on his eyes, then starts the smoke by burning wet cloth or something like that to get a lot of smoke and showing of it to the bee hive. The fact is bees can't see in smoke, this is the method adopted by experts who get the honey from the bee hive honey comb.Try with supervision of a brave person.

I'd contact the local Agriculture Department because if they are indeed bees, its illegal to kill them in the US (they're on the endangered list). They will then be removed. If they are not bees then these folks will undoubtedly have methods and/or contacts for removal.
Hope this helps!
ENJOY!
