Any Facebook Advice?

I am new to facebook. Only been a member for a few short months. I am already realizing little things I can do to improve my facebook experience and to protect my personal information. Some people are having troubles in areas that are obvious to me. For example: One of my family members got an unexpectedly high cellphone bill from taking "tests" or "surveys" on facebook. This person was luck enough to get these charges reimbursed because of laws protecting senior citizens. But It should have been obvious, as it is to me, that if any application asks for your cell phone number, then SOMETHING fishy is going on. Another thing is that I never post phone numbers or my address on my info page. I always put "given upon request" in the space to let friends know that if they don't have this information, and want it, they can always e-mail me or send me a personal message and I will be glad to relay the info at my discretion. One more thing is getting bogged down with requests and applications. I found out early on that you can't possibly do EVERYTHING that everyone wants you to be involved in. I usually limit myself to being involved in one or 2 games, and I block applications that I don't wnat to ever hear from again. This makes it possible for me to use facebook for what I intended when I originally signed up, which is social networking and sharing. Otherwise it can suck the life out of your whole day if you don't keep control of what you get involved in. Do you have any facebook secrets or advice? Please share!

My advice would be that you don't have to accept every invitation sent to you.Ü Goodluck. Facebook is fun. Use it to keep in touch with friends. Enjoy!
