One bad result from Man Utd is enough for people to start raising questions around here. When United looses a match against a weaker team, a bunch of discussions appear debating if the season is lost or not. It's common sense that the Premiership is won in 38 matches and many things can happen to tables from a match to another. What I don't see is people posting when the team is winning, when the team is performing well and when the team is showing us a spectacular game. I didn't see the first half today, but the second one as more than enough. Rooney scoring twice (I think he is the pillar on which most of the team will stand this season), Nani scoring from a free-kick (showing that he can replace C. Ronaldo in taking free-kicks) and Owen showing us he still has some of his touch (a beautiful goal!). Can you also comment on United's success, or did the cat get your tongue? P.S.: I apologize for the somewhat harsh tone to the people who always posted on this interest with common sense, but I really feel we should keep this topic alive by also supporting the team when it wins.

Hello Stavasile, I have been a fan of United since the historical turnaround of the 99 season to win the champion's league by staging a dramatic comeback in the final minutes. I knew that we will find a way to cope with the loss of Ronaldo. We are the club that makes players. Ronaldo was a largely unknown entity when he came from Sporting Lisbon six years ago. We have a long list of players whom Sir Alex has groomed to be world star players, only to be lured away by cash rich clubs like Real. David Beckham is another such example. I trust sir Alex fully and that is why I was just waiting for this day after the shock defeat midweek. I knew we are strong enough and we would come back strongly. Today was the best result we could hope for. An away game, Rooney getting his hundredth, Berbatov and Owen scoring their first and Nani scoring off a delightful free kick to seal things off. I do believe Nani is supremely talented and he might be the next Ronaldo.. who knows?

Hello, jshekhar! I am happy to see we have the same opinion concerning Man Utd's approach on polishing players rather than bringing players considered super-stars. While some people were asking if Cristiano Ronaldo can be considered one of the club's legends, I always said that, no matter how good he is, he has to keep up that level of performance at the club for many years before being considered a legend. Considering his contribution to the club, he is almost nothing next to colossal players like Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Eric Cantona, George Best or even David Beckham. As for your last comment, I don't want for Nani to be the next Ronaldo. I just want him to be a better Nani.

Thanks a lot for acknowledgement, friend. When I mentioned that I want Nani to be the next Ronaldo, I just intended to mean that I wanted him to attain the same stature as Ronaldo attained from his third season onwards. Nani is also at the same stage where Ronaldo started blossoming.. he's been with us for some time now and I'm sure he'll be a much better Nani that both of us want..

That's right, pcdlsy! That's why we are called supporters: to support the team we love for the better and the worse! To believe in the players' qualities and in the management's decisions!

Yeah it was a really good turn around after that midweek loss against Burnley. It was a scintillating performance by Rooney. He is a genius anyway to me.Its just for those people who think that Rooney can't score or play as a central striker, see for your self guys what he can do really. And for Owen, its really nice to see him scoring such a wonderful goal, real clinical finishing. United is and will always be the greatest team in the Universe.Just remember that guys. And everyone who think that we can't win the BPL this season because we have lost Ronaldo,I just hope you saw the match.

Seeing Rooney play in some matches of the past season, I think he's turning into a model for his team-mates. I've seen him running all the match and covering every inch of the field. I even heard that Alex Ferguson criticised him, saying it's not his business running so much and helping out on other positions, because there are also other players in the team that are supposed to bring balls for the striker, and there are times he's not there to receive good balls in front of the goal if he's somewhere else, helping out...

u r so damn rite... ppl tend to criticize alot when a big club loses against a minor... manutd proved dat burnley's victory was no more than a fluke... n dat ronaldo n tevez's absence wont make their strike force weaker... the point is united shud now go on n post a gud start to the season so dat they dont hav to catch up for the rest of the season... 35 games to go... i feel its goin to b our season again!!

I think it's good Man Utd lost so early in the Premiership and to a team like Burnley. I think the players are going to be angry for this loss and that anger will make them play better, be extra-motivated by this rage.
