We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, Insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. “promote the general Welfare”… Does this mean for all of the people? Not just the rich and wealthy, but for the working class and those without jobs who are unable to work due to health problems, or those who are no longer working because of plant shutdowns. The Constitution begins with “WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES. I don’t believe this applies to the ILLEGAL Aliens, but should include all LEGAL Aliens. After all weren’t our ancestors including those who wrote the Constitution LEGAL Aliens?How would this apply to Universal Health care for all of our Citizens? I believe it is covered by “Insure domestic Tranquility” and “promote the general Welfare”, the Constitution states that in the very beginning.
