I usually get to stay up all night if I have not done anything tiring during the day or I keep on thinking about something and continue to think about it even at night.
Whenever that happens, I just try not to think about it. I try to tire myself with something productive like doing something online. However, I think using the computer to get sleepy is not really healthy and some alternate should be recommended.
Reading a book that you don't like might seem to work, especially those with dragging details that you'd wish weren't there. Some readers actually skip those details to keep track of the story that they are reading. Others would settle with watching something on television but, that too isn't something advisable.
Making yourself comfortable before you sleep is something that one should practice so that the body would become accustomed and that they body would be fully recharged when its time to wake up.

I happen to have some problems when I sleep, initially with something that I sleep on. I don't know exactly but, with certain kinds of beds, my body would get slight pain and aches after waking up. I guess the bed is too hard on that case while I feel different at times. I guess I really need a soft bed of my own. Having a bed that isn't completely yours does affect one's sleeping habits. (-_-")
Thanks by the way with the award (^_^ )

I hate when that happens! If I take a little snooze during the day, I either can't fall asleep at night, or I fall asleep and wake up. I usually either doodle around on the computer - on mylot or bargain hunting or I watch tv. Usually that does the trick.

when I can't go to sleep and I felt tired and really wanted to rest, I listen to music, most of the time the beach waves and other youtube video for mind relaxation while surfing and when my eyes are drowsy then sometimes I sleep in front of my laptop! lol!!!!

I come on MyLot. Or I read. Or I do some laundry. Anything to keep me busy and make me sleepy enough to try to go back to sleep.
Being an insomniac can also actually make you a lot of money! When I used to stay up until 4-5am, I would do (paid) surveys online and come on MyLot.. And I'd make like $5 a night! Too bad I have a regular sleeping pattern now.

I usually put on the TV, choose a program that will not interest me too much, and cuddle in my bed with lights out. It always works . The best programs for me are those of nannies going to houses to convert brats into well behaved children or other program in the home and health channel.
