My laptop LCD screen keeps getting dust particles due to static... i was wondering how you guys clean your screen ? Use a soft dry cloth or slightly damp it with a screen cleaning liquid ? Some use screen protectors but my screen is already quiet dirty to stick that thin transparent sheet to my screen... i also do have some minor stain marks, I need your advice, how do you remove them, I haven't tried the liquid cleanser for the monitor screens, do you think that is a good option coz it is costly! . . . All responses appreciated . . . Thank you!

yeah soft clothes are what the best for the screens, although you can moist it a little bit with plain water, cleaners shouldn't be used, although there are special ones one might find at the local computer stores, have a nice day and thanks for sharing joe!

well the simple thing to do is wet a cloth and then use it to clean the screen and then quickly wipe it out with a paper or dry cotton cloth and thats it nothing special is needed for any screen type. i am doing this to my lcd screen for years now

Hmm i have to say you might have been doing that regularly from the start itself right... well not me... and now i have got some small irritating patches of stain and i don't like them at all... your idea is good if you are doing that from the start.

My brother bought this special cloth for cleaning monitors and he helps me clean my laptop monitor since he also uses it. When he's not around, I try cleaning it with tissue soaked in some water but the effect isn't as good as it leaves stains

Yes animegirl... that cloth is somewhat similar to the one which we get for the spectacles right ? well that is certainly the most widely practiced way for cleaning screens i guess... thanks for sharing and have a good day!

Hey voldrox, I usually use colin for this purpose. But a friend of mine(quite a expert about computer hardwares)told me that using excessive colin could damage my screen. So i started using clean dry clothes for it.Its the most simplest way i guess.

A water moisten fine cloth will do, for stubborn dirt use a mild soad if you don't have a screen cleaning liquid. Like what James said, their is a special cloth for this sort of cleaning, get one to avoid scratching your screen.

Hmm i think a proper dedicated cleaning liquid would be better to use than mild soap i guess... may be i should invest some money for that liquid.... yeah i do sometimes use water moist fine cloth, the only thing that remains are those small patches of irritating stains :-x

I ususlay use a smooth cloth daily to clean up my screen.sometimes i use a spray to cleanup.I keep my computer very clean not only outside but also inside.I dont know about any liquid,i just use a normal screen cleaner spray to clean..
