How to gain more traffic ...?

Dear mylotters,
About a week ago, I started a blog (see my blog listed on my profile and please comment if you don't mind:-)), and I was wondering about some ways to get more traffic towards my blog.
Recently, I came across 'pinging'...does pinging your blog really increases traffic, I wonder...?
I also joined linkreferral and this system really works because it brings several visitors to my blog each day, a long as we are active in clicking some other blogs listed in their system...I was wondering is there other website similar to linkreferral, that is much more better?
What about you guys? What are other system you use to bring more traffic to your blog/websites? Please...do tell. I'd really appreciate your answers...!

There are a lot of ways to promote your blog, and to gain more traffic. However, I think you just have to try them and know what will work for you.
The first thing that you should realize is your capability to promote. Are you sociable enough to deal with fellow bloggers? Are you willing to learn more about Search Engine Optimization or SEO? Can you be a good guest blogger?
Incidentally, I just finished a blog post entitled How to Promote a Blog for Beginners: Part One in which you can find the link on my profile.
I am now on my way to finish Part 2 and 3, and hope you also watch out for it.

there is a website called www.cretise.com.sign up for that website and view some of their sponsors webpages.for each number of sponsors website you view you will be abler to show your website to other people.for examplr if you view 1000 websites your website will be shown to a 1000 people around the world.and all these for freeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
