How do you know when it is love and not just doing it for the sake of it?

I myself is very confused as to what is love anymore. Is it about everything or what? I have no clue whatsoever and I wish I could just know what it is all about and start moving on with my life. I am sure everyone would love to be happy and be loved by someone who would love them as they are. I guess I am just hoping for something that is not going to happen in my life and stayed on something that is just going to a dead end road. Life is just so complicated some times when it comes to emotional feelings. Why do people have to make this complicated?

what do you exactly mean by "doing it for the sake of it" statement? Love becomes complicated because people complicates it. the sad thing is that they try to make it complicated because of the circumstances that comes into their lives.
