What are your thoughts about the near death experience?

There are quite a number of people who claim to have died and been revived. In some cases where it has happened in a hospital, they were clinically dead for up to 15 minutes.Often these people tell of experiencing life outside of their physical bodies. Has anyone experienced this or know someone who has? I have a nephew who died from drowning at age 13, but was revived. Today he is 45 and claims that he has had no fear of death since that time. I know that science tries to explain away these things but sometimes there are things that can't be explained. What are your thoughts?
