I hate when you've had a nail polish for a while and it gets all thick and hard to put on. I heard that it helps to put some nail polish remover in it, but that doesn't really help much. It's hard to put on and then it just flakes off anyways. Do you have problems with this? What can you do to help nail polish last longer?

Well, I have added finger nail polish remover before, But I usually will just add a clear top coat to the nail polish and give it a few good shakes. Then use it a usual. I have also mixed colors to make new ones. I have gotten some polishes that were thin..so makes it great to add them to the thickened ones. Nail Polish usually thickens faster if it is the speed drying kind.

Well I don't think mine is the speed drying kind. mixing polishes is a great idea though! Thanks!

I've actually heard that you are not supposed to add nailpolish remover to nail polish because it can change the color of the polish. It has something to do with the ingredients of the remover not being compatible with the polish. You should be using nail polish thinner, which is espacially made for the problem you mentioned.

Hmm..I've never even heard of nail polish thinner before. I should definitely check that out though. Thanks.

When I was in school I was not introduced to nail polish removers. I had a tough time removing the remains of nail polish by scratching using a blade. It is a really difficult job. When I grew up and got introduced to nail polish removers, I found that it is fine to remove nail polish and use a new one that matches my dress every now and then. It takes some time and it is difficult for me to find time for it in this busy life.
