I'm curious, do you Christian peeps have answers to these questions:
- If you were raised as a Muslim instead of a Christian, would you still believe Christ were your savior or would you be just as sure about Muhammad and Allah as you are about Christ and God? My point is- did your parents give you their god or did you find him on your own?
- If science tells us earth is around 5 billion years old but the bible tells us it is around 6,000 years old, why would we be missing something so completely fundamental if God gave us this power of observation?
I ask these not to be a jerk but because I honestly asked myself these questions and I didn't necessarily like the answers.
What do you think?

The answer to your second question is pretty simple. Even if it's God's word, the Bible was still written down by men. And, when they wrote it, the concept of a billion didn't exist. They wrote what they knew, a smaller number that still seemed like a lot.
I'm not a big believer in taking the Bible word for word because I know there's bound to be mistakes in it. However, the basics are accurate and that's why other religions, like Muslim, do base their religions off of the Bible, though with a different interpretation.
