tat would be a nice idea, but at the same time, there are two things to be kept in mind like, firstly warne needs to be ready to come back, he should be fit enough, if he cant run and field it ll be a disaster, also he wud have to stand in the slips also secondly ther is huge talent of potential spinners in AUS, but dont have the right training as spinners in subcontinent have, these young spinners should also be given a chance to play few matches, thats how they ll also gain experience and be as good as warne. and also how long can warne keep playing he had to retire at some point of time, i think he is better off resting, may be he could be a spin coach for them.....

Huge Talent pool of spinners in Australia ? You are kidding right ? Warne is not there and Macgill has retired so who is the main man now ? Well in case you missed the ashes it was Nathan Hauritz , a guy who has never , ever taken 5 wickets in an innings in any first class match ! So to say there's a huge talent pool of up and coming spinners is so wrong it aint funny ! YES Shane Warne should be immediately reinstated as an Australian Test cricketer and also should be immediately given the captaincy . As far as saying Shane Warne is too old , well that too is garbage as anybody who know's anything about cricket knows that legspinners can play until they are 55 . Leggies do not need the physical prowess of a fast bowler . In all seriousness Warne has another 5 years left in him as a worthy addition to any nation's test team . The problem is with the Australian cricket establishment . The ACB would never allow Warne to just come back like that , the board is too inflexible . Plus by bringing Warne back as captain , the board is admitting it's original mistake of appointing Ponting as captain ahead of Warney , which was made purely for public relations than pure captaincy skills . So it will never happen but it should . You could pick a side now of recently retired aussie players plus say Brad Hodge that would whip the current Australian Test Team and that's messed up ! However it is true .

It would be a great story if he did, but I think it's unlikely to work out. I know spinners perhaps don't need to be as fit as fast bowlers, but if he weren't fit enough to field, he could turn out to be a liability. His insight would certainly help Ricky Ponting, though - he seems to have relied on Warne's advice for many years and is certainly missing him now he's gone.

Personally I would say Shane Warne is too old to come back as captain. I think Australia have to look to the future rather than take older players back. If or when Ricky Ponting goes as captain I would imagine Michael Clarke will take over the reins. Sharne Warne was a great player but his time has come and gone.

Shane Warne is past his prime. Sure, he had a great IPL, but do remember that a T20 is more of a gamble, and luck plays a huge huge part in your performance. And playing 40 overs in a day and bowling just 4 overs is any day welcome by any 40 year old rather than playing 90 overs a day and bowling 20 overs. It will be too much to ask for a 40 year old who is not even into playing Active Cricket. Shane Warne is a great strategest but bringing him back as Captain of Australia will be sure receipe for disaster. How can you forget other talented but untested skipper material in Michael Clarke and Mike Hussey?????

No! Warney's time is over! He had a great career as did McGrath, Hayden and Gilchrist. But their time has been and as much as it would be nice to have those brilliant players back in the team now that they are struggling, it is best to train up some new talent! I think Shane Warne in a coaching role would be great for the team, but old Warney likes to be in the spotlight, so I think his path will be in media. That is where he is spending a lot of time at the moment! He is a pretty good commentator too!
